Book: Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Date/Time: Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m.
Place: Beatties Ford Rd Library

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Luke, Han, and Princess Leia's story didn't end with the destruction of the Death Star....
Though they had won a significant battle, the war between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire had really just begun.

Now, several months later, the Rebels had established an outpost on the frozen wasteland of Hoth. But even on that icy, backwater planet, they could not escape the evil Darth Vader's notice for long.

Soon, Luke, Han, Princess Leia, and their faithful companions were forced to flee, scattering in all directions?with the Dark Lord's minions in fevered pursuit

We will do away with our spoiler policy for this book because it IS the novelisation of a movie we have all seen

We will probably meet for an hour to an hour and half.

Everyone is welcome but please post that you will be attending so that we know how many seats to set up.

November - Return of the Jedi

We will break in December for the annual Christmas party.

Also, just so folks are aware we do use the Book Club as our monthly meeting time so we take care of any club business then.

Also, we need to decide on which book series we are going to read next year?

The Thrawn Series by Timothy Zahn or the Legacy of the Force series.

 

I'll be there Sep 15th.

I also want to play mini's afterward ... though I don't actually *have* any!

 

My friend is sending me some. I don't know how many she is sending but maybe I can lend you some.

 

We can lend you some, she sent us 165 minis...

 

We've also booked the larger room for this meeting. The schedule will be:

11am to 12pm - Book Club
12pm to 12:30pm - Club Business
12:30pm to 2pm - Minis

We will play one round with 150 points. <---- like I know what I'm talking about Hopefully I'll be more up to speed by the 15th.

I have no idea what that means either ... but I like games where you *start* with a ton of points

Seriously tho ... I will see ya there, not having read the book in about 20 years, but you know how it goes!

 

I posted a list of the minis we have over in the minis thread. If you look each one has the name of the mini, it's cost points and how many we have.

I am sorry for the lateness of this message. It looks like I will not be able to make the book club meeting. I have been looking forward to this all week. I need to save some money to get my car fixed. Having only one working car is not good.

Ok, here are some pictures from today's book club meeting and SW Mini's game. Erelannon came out today, we had a pretty good discussion about the book The Empire Strikes Back and we had a fun game of mini's. Jada and the youngling played against each other and Erelannon battled against me. It was fun. I'm looking forward to doing this more often. We will be playing every month at the book club meetings but we are also planning on hosting some games at our house at other times during the month. Anyway, here are some pictures from today...
