Buff, NY Book CLub

Well we discussed this topic at the NOvemeber Meeting and all agreed to make our next reading adventure the new Vader book.

We will keep each other updated on this thread as to our progress and tentativly discuss the book in January... this way people will have a chance to read it during the holidays.

So here's the info on the book
It isn't being released until November 22

Did anyone get this yet? What did you pay and where?

 

MP had it advertised in the Sunday ad for around $18

 

Started reading it last night.

 

trying to get my mom get it for me as an early x-mas gift!

 

I read one chapter that Janice pointed out... very interesting!

 

is there a due date set yet? i am done with only 2 chapters, i know there are some that still dont have the book yet!

I picked the book up over the weekend, but have only had a chance to get through about 6 chapters. We'll keep tabs to see how far people have gotten, so we don't ruin any parts for those who need to catch up.

 

I'm up to the 3rd section of the book so far. If I can read this, anyone can!

I started it, then Chris got his hands on it and I haven't been able to pry it out since

 

I`m about two thirds into it.

 

I finished it last night. Did you guys know that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader???? Hope I didn`t spoil it for anyone.

 

I heard that he wear this black life suit too!

 

i picked the book back up 2 nights ago and am on the 3rd part....really liking it!

Does anyone here read the SW Comics?
I know that they are coming out with a one-shot in a few months of Vader taking on some remaining Jedi and its a special comic that deals with the Purge.

 

I actually just started getting into them, and picked up the last two issues of both Empire and Republic. Do you know under which title it's going to be occuring in? Or will this be just a seperate self-contained arc?

 

I gotta get that one!

 

I believe it is the very LAST issue of Republic.
It will be what finally closes the series.
I know that Republic is now getting a little more into the Order 66 storyline.

Edit: I was mistaken.
This will be a ONE-SHOT. A one printing comic not Republic nor Empire.
And for those of you Vader fans (cant imagine who THAT is )

Double checking a few things I can say a few things about the book

The cover of the issue will feature Vader standing in the center of a room surrounded by Jedi with sabers lit. At his feet will be the corpse of a female Jedi with a severed wrist and lightsaber wound through the heart.

Vader interrogates Jedi for Kenobis wherabouts and actually snaps the neck of one!

Looks like a good series. Says the publication date was yesterday, so it should be hitting the racks soon. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
