Bootleg half-naked Yoda statue?

Hey. My mom got me this hilarious statue from the Puzzle Zoo, and I want to know more about it.

It's a statue of a younger Yoda (with longish brown hair), in a THONG, holding an un-lit lightsaber. It's about 6 inches tall, on a black base, and I would guess it's a bootleg or something.

I specifically remember seeing pictures of it a few years ago, but I can't find any info on it now. Adam at Galactic Hunter said he remembers it too, but doesn't know anything about it.

So does anyone know who made it? How many were made? When it was made?

 

If that's the figure I'm thinking of (how many half-naked Yoda statues can there be?), I have it too.

I believe it was originally made by a company called "Grey-Zon".

I'll see if I can dig up any more information on it.

 

Dude! I stumbled upon an online pic of that a couple years ago! For the longest time, I posted it up on messageboards as a glimpse of Yoda in action in Episode II!!!
Well, it made me laugh, anyway.
At any rate, I have no idea what the answers are to your questions. I just thought it was a one-of-a-kind custom job that someone made.

That picture is almost identical to the one I have, except on mine, his hair is brown, there's no loincloth (it's just a thong), the base is black and oval shaped, and there's no blade on the lightsaber (I can't tell if that was added later or is on the actual figure). But other than that, it's identical. Perhaps I have a bootleg of a bootleg? Or maybe this person decided to "improve" his half-naked Yoda. The one in the pic looks to have a better paint job too.

I'm pretty sure it was a model kit. The differences in painting is simply because they were custom painted by whoever bought them. The kit didn't come with a base either, which explains the differences there. Mine is unpainted, and only has the "thong". I think the "loincloth" seen in the image above was added on by whoever bought it.

As for the lightsaber, I think the kit came with one. Perhaps whoever originally bought your kit decided not to glue the lightsaber on.

It looks pretty cool to me though.
