Up until now we've all heard of bothans being great spies in the galaxy but we've never seen them (due to how good of a spy network they've been). Do you think that with the fall of the empire we'll see the bothans come out of the shadows and have a larger part in the ST?

Personally would love to see this species have an important part in the new movies, I mean these are the guys who stole the second death star plans!! Bothan Jedi anyone, in Jedi robes??

Here is a Bothan that was supposed to be with the Separatists in their war room discussion that ended up being replaced.

It was replaced digitally. That was GL's vision for a Bothan.

Interesting. I remember discussing that guy around the time of AOTC, but I don't remember if it was ever confirmed as a Bothan.

The Alien that replaced him ended up being called a Hulwoff. Something about expression issues with the mask for the Bothan.

Senator Toonbuck Toora was the original separatist but George thought she looked like she had fallen asleep. So they replaced her head with that digital thing and called it Rogra Wodrata. So it went from being a Sy Myrthian to a Holwuff.

I would love to see Bothan Spies in The Sequel Trilogy.

Now there's a guy (girl?) who's severely underdeveloped. What was his motivation? Why is he aiding the empire? What was his character? Was it even a he? PLOT HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing a brief Bothan.

Btw, can anyone tell me how a Bothan would be a great spy? I mean in the racist Empire a Bothan would stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.

I'm pretty sure there was a back story to this. He was a smuggler who was only smuggling because he had a sick daughter and needed the money. Then the empire found out what he was doing and kidnapped his daughter, so he was forced to turn spy for them to get his daughter back. Quote me if I'm wrong but I believe he ended up fighting for the rebellion and died during the battle of endor. I may be wrong

I think Bothans were on the approved species for certain jobs list.
Just like wookiees were on the approves species to be enslaved list

I was telling a friend of mine about Manny Both-Hanz, he couldn't stop laughing. Loved it.

But really, bothans might have been this species before becoming the furry ones we know now.
