    Right...

The result of adding the date of the last Monday of last month and the date of the first Thuesday of next month is 38. If both dates are of the same year, what is the current month?

Hey, I knew that...but you beat me to it!!!

Here's an old one my great Grandma Hughes used to tell:

As I was going to St.Ives, I met a man with seven wives.
    Each wife had seven sacks,
    Each sack had seven cats,
    Each cat had seven kits.
    Kits, cats, sacks and wives,
How many were going to St.Ives?

Laurie and I are too good. :)

I have the answer for Chris's question. He confirmed it via MSN Messenger, but I won't post the answer so more can play.

(I also had the 1st puzzle answered that way, but Laurie posted the answer before I did!)

Of course, Graeme is the only one to get confused on the one question that isn't a brain teaser. However, I have one.

If the White House is white, and the blue house is blue, what colour is the green house?

hey....stick to one at a time!!!!!
    Mine hasn't been answered yet.

    Riddle:
The result of adding the date of the last Monday of last month and the date of the first Thuesday of next month is 38. If both dates are of the same year, what is the current month?

OK Chrissy, time to take care of your question once and for all so we can get on with it. The thing that might be scaring people off this question, however is; What the heck is "Thuesday"? Did Tuesday and Thursday get together and produce this new hybrid?? ?[face_plain] I'm guessing it must be Thursday, because the answer only works if it is!!!!

Monday, July 31 is the last Monday of last month. Thursday, September 7 is the first Thursday of next month. 31 + 7 = 38. The current month is August.

The reason is that within one year, the only two months that have 31 days that follow each other are July and August.

Well, that's my guess anyway, and I'm sticking to it!

    NEXT......................

    Here's an easy one...
An old lady left $33,333 to be divided equally among two fathers and two sons, and each was to receive $11,111. How was this possible?

There are only 3 people. A grandfather, a father and a son. I'll give them names to help clarify.

    Grandfather: Anakin
    Father: Luke
    Son: Ben

Luke is the son of Anakin, and Ben is the son of Luke. ( = 2 sons)

Anakin is the father of Luke, and Luke is the father of Ben. ( = 2 fathers)

    I am so smart. S M R T.

So now there are no brainteasers to solve...this will never do.....let me see...

These are called Letter Conundrums, here is a very lame example...I didn't want to waste any good ones:
What letter is like an island?
Answer: T because it is in the middle of water.

Some are good, some are hard, and some are dumb.......enjoy!!!

    1. What letter adds great value to a pear?

    2. What letter is like a cow's tail?

    3. What letter comes once in a minute, twice in a moment and never in a thousand years?

    4. What letter is like death?

    5. What letter widens a road?

    6. What letter is invisible yet never out of sight?

    7. What letter changes the sex of a lad?

    8. What letter is like noon?

    9. What letter is like a wedding ring?

10.What letter is like New Year's Day?
