Just finished Well of Ascension. I'm mad at myself for not reading these books sooner.

So Elend didn't snap, correct? Whatever was in the well gave him the power? Or the mist spirit?

 

Yeah, that little nugget at the Well that Vin fed him gave him the Allomantic power.

 

And he's the most powerful due to the pure source of the Lerasium bead(as opposed to the watered down powers of the descendants of the original mistborn)

 

He's the most powerful, but Vin's still more skilled - experience is important.

 

Just out of curiosity, how do you guys pronounce Sazed?

 

I say it like it rhymes with glazed or raised.

 

Yeah, that's how I've pronounced it as well. Don't know if that's correct or not, though.

 

I say "Say-zed." But, like teh others, no clue if it's correct.

 

Yeah this is how I pronounce it.



My sister pronounces it Sah-zed. Which, IMO, would make no sense when given his nickname. Sometimes they call him Saze, and if it's pronounced Sah-zed, I'd have no clue how to pronounce his nickname. haha

 

Mistborn Wiki claims its "Sah-zayd", though I don't know its source for that.

That still leaves questions about the nickname "Saze", though, as AJ said.

 

As for Mistborn as a whole, BS has said it's got a French basis. So Kelsier would actually be pronounced kel-see-yay, even though that's not how he pronounces it.

 

Found out I could buy an autographed hardcover copy of the first Mistborn book on Sanderson's official site. So I bought two. One for me, and one for my sister, Liza.


Also, you can put in signing instructions. So in my copy, Sanderson will be writing: Varouj is a bigger Mistborn fan than Liza.
And in Liza's copy, it'll say: Liza, beware. Mario is a kandra.


Mario is my sister's fiance.

I'm about 250 pages into Hero of Ages right now! btw, Spook is a badass in the third book so far...

 

Brandon's new novella, Legion, just hit stores. Has anyone gotten a copy? I haven't, but I'm very much looking forward to it (I need my fix).

 

I'm gonna get it, but I have so many books I have to read before it. I finished all of Mistborn(trilogy and AoL) btw. One of my favorite series now. I also purchased the Mistborn adventure game. It comes with a short story that is basically Kelsier's backstory.

 

Ooo, is that available anywhere except with the game?

 

Anyone know anything about this one?

I had briefly but wasn't sure about the details. I'm sure I'll like it, 'cause it's Sanderson, but Elantris was my least favorite of his worlds.

Wow, that's quick! Sanderson just finished the first chapter. But I don't doubt his ability to write a lot realy quickly.

 

So it is a sequel to Elantris or set in the same world?
