Brett "Attention Whore" Favre just had to do one more thing to drive me insane...drive Jim Johnson out of the news.

I expect another failed comeback in 0.86 seconds.

I really think this will be the last time, something I wasn't so sure about before.

He will come back when the first major QB goes down for the season and he steps in as the starter.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him sign with the Vikings later in the season, especially if Jackson doesn't play well.

This is the perfect opportunity for my latest idea: the NFL Heroes League.

NFL veterans (min 8 yrs exp) who can no longer cut it at the NFL level talent wise, or who simply can't do the strain of the NFL any more, would move to this league. It gives America more football (which it craves) with star power built in (which lacks from Arena, XFL, USFL, etc), and allows people who have only known football for their entire lives to keep playing and entertaining us, rather than ending up homeless drug addicts (or at least delaying this process).

This will save us from seeing the likes of Jerry Rice hanging on for dear life as a Seahawk, or Emmit Smith clutching for one more season as a Cardinal. But, still give players like that who still want to play football a chance to still play football competitively and for money.

But would the players like that, Inty? Also, would there be enough players who qualify and are interested?

I don't care about if they'd like it. It would entertain me, and that's all that matters!

somehow, i don't really see how if it's his ankles and knees that are the issue that they'll really improve with a more extended break... honestly, i think he's finally done.

He'll have to fight 84-year-old Vinny Testaverde to do that.

The NFL is a notorious body-pounder. It's not like golf.

Is he going for Ric Flair's record.

Even I'm sick of him now.

Go away Favre. You and John Madden can cuddle on the couch and watch Julie and Julia and talk about the good old days.

All right it doesn't really surprise me at all. What he should have done though is be man enough to sign with the team before Training Camp. If he had no intention of being retired then he should have had the courtesy of giving the Vikings an answer. The rumor I heard is that he thinks he's too good for training camp and I can see some truth in it.

I like Bret Favre, there are a lot of scum in the NFL and I don't consider him to be one. The game is hard for him to give up I can accept that I think his career will end with a sizzle rather than a bang that he hopes for.

I never really liked Green Bay, but I have a poster of Favre in my room. I accepted him as a great QB who just happened to play for a team I disliked. However, this news really makes him lose credibility with me; why can't he just retire?
