    It isn't that hard...

Before the Emperor, the Jedi were light-side devotees. Light side has many virtues, but being light-side often means being cruelly indifferent to suffering (it is the will of the force). If I had done the prequels, there would have been moments where the viewer is enraged at the inaction of Yoda and Obi-Wan, just like Luke felt when Yoda told him to not save his friends.

Emperor/Vader is all about using the Dark Side for control. This goes hand-in-hand with technology. Anyone who has experience with tech knows that it breaks down into a natural state (iron rusts). This also means that...light side *has* to be low-tech, so a high-tech Republic is simply wrong. Republic technology *must* be inferior to Empire tech.

So Dark Side takes over, wipes out Light Side.

Bringing balance to the force should have meant bringing...balance...truce...between the two sides so they aren't warring with each other all the time trying to wipe the other out (The JEDI SPEAK IN ABSOLUTES, COME ON!!!!!!) but instead are more accepting of the virtues of the other, and by beginning dialogue, both round out their edges and become less extreme.

The prequels remind me of North Korean propaganda, seriously.

Nope. The Force is this, there is good and there is evil. They are in constant balance unless something disrupts that balance. Due to a number of factors, the Force begins to fall out of balance during the era of the PT. The dark side grows stronger with each passing day until the Force is completely out of balance. Years later, Luke and the Alliance fight to restore freedom to the galaxy and as a result, the Force starts to right itself until Anakin kills Palpatine and then dies himself, at which point the Force is now in balance once again. It's just like this type of scale.

    A thousand years ago.

So balance actually means annihilation? That really should be, in all seriousness, purity. He restored *purity* in the Force. Purity is about wiping out that which pollutes. Fine, treat the dark side as pollution. Just don't call it "balance". That's North Korean in the doublespeak.

    This is balance

    "North Korean propaganda"? Seriously?

Ezekial - you've made it abundantly clear that you don't like the prequels and the Special Editions, and while you're entitled to both hold and express that opinion, your relentlessly negative posts are bordering on trolling. Keep it up and you can take a vacation.

    Locking.
