The good thing with the OT, especially episode 4 was that it had a great cast of British actors in it, mainly because a lot of it was filmed in England. I think the PT lacked on this and instead went for a lot of Australian actors, due to a lot of it being filmed in Australia.
I also think the reason why the OT was so great, same as Indiana jones, was a lot of the film crew making the film were mainly British as well. I'm not sure about today, but at the time England had some amazing film makers. This made a big difference between the OT and the PT which a lot of people don't realise or under estimate.
I hope JJ will be filming a lot of it in England again using our film crew. I believe the only reason they went to Australia for the PT was something to do with it was cheaper right? Something to do with tax or something?
Here's hoping Disney don't worry about money and paying too much tax.... I'm sure they won't!

Where would you like the majority of the new trilogy filmed?

Mav Edit: I'm going to go ahead and lock this seeing as there is official info on filming in the UK, you can find that thread HERE. Conversation can continue there.

    you're correct.

As far as who films it or where it is filmed I don't really care as long as

    - everyone involved is talented at what they do (I expect this of all films, regardless of budget)

    - more on location shooting, I will be a bit disappointed if the majority is green screen.

I'm British BTW, so thank you for the compliment :p

A scouser Thrawn would be gold,

    I'd pay to see that.

Good to see another poster not under the spell of Zahn though :D

If he were a Scot, he'd have to be a Connery Scot, or even a Scotty Scot, not a McDermid or McGregor Scot -

If he is Canadian, every sentence MUST end with 'Ay?' as in 'How about that Empire, Ay?' or 'Yer a Skywalker, Ay?'... All or nothin' here...

I love British actors. They really get into their roles — more so than most American actors.

I just imagined Thrawn if he were to exist in the new trilogy, or someone very similar, to have gone to the same school of military bad ass as the officers of the empire in the OT and they all had well spoken English accents while wearing crisp military officer uniforms. It don't mean to say he'd have the same accent but it would carry on a good theme from the OT.

I could actually imagine a Sean Connery accent though! So it would be English but with a soft Scottish twang to it....that could work!

    _ _ _ _

There was a thread during the last couple of days suggesting that somewhere in Scotland is a potential location.

There are some fantastic Australian/New Zealander actors. But if we're talking British/Scottish ones...David Tennant. Freema Agyeman. John Barrowman. (though, not all together...that would be a Doctor Who episode!) :D

And Ewan McGregor as...I don't know, Wedge's nephew? Or just have a whole standalone Obi-Wan movie :)

I hope this one has a British touch. It will remind me of the OT.

Thanks for making it sound like Australia is to blame for the PT sucking
I can't even think of a single Australian actor in any of them..
Also you make us sound like some cheap third world country. In fact everything is about as expensive here as it is in England. I'm not sure what it was that cost less for them to make the movie here?
