    ~~~~
    Broken Future
    From a desolate place I come,
    to a place I now call home,
    I have journeyed from a place of anguish,
    to a place of comfort,
    only to once again suffer in an alien home.
    I had made many friends,
    what a joy it was to feel safe,
    they were in a way my followers,
    for they looked up to me.
    I will list some of their names,
    Garen the pilot,
    Bant the body healer,
    Reeft the food gatherer.
    Bruck the prankster,
    Siri the spy,
    Aalto the informer,
    Orain the soul healer.
    Now here I am alone,
    Garen is dead,
    struck down by Bruck?s blade,
    now here I am alone in the darkness.
    Blackness fills my soul,
    I suffocate under its grip,
    no one to save me,
    no one here to care.
    How foolish I was to stray,
    overconfident and reckless,
    these things are not me,
    where did I go wrong?
    I fight a losing battle,
    I can't find the strength to fight back,
    I call for help and no one hears,
    I cry out and no one cares.
    The victorious laughter of the Sith rings in my mind,
    how I wish Bruck struck the killing blow,
    such anguish I am in,
    so cold.
    As I?m being dragged into the abyss,
    I see a flicker of light,
    hope shining bright,
    alas is must be an illusion,
    I am forgotten.
    That for which I was born is lost,
    for I was broken too soon from my cocoon,
    hope for the restoration of the Jedi fades,
    for I was the key.
    Still the spark of hope remains,
    in a little boy not so little anymore,
    if he breaks the chains of darkness within himself,
    then perhaps he?ll return to break mine.
    My apprentice will find him,
    help save him he will,
    in turn save himself,
    from the clutches of darkness they will be torn away.
    The future is always in motion,
    this I must remember,
    the wise words of Master Yoda,
    heed them I must and wait.
    A servant of darkness I have become,
    an agent of evil,
    as I wait for rescue from my bondage,
    for I have not yet been defeated.
    I merely wait for the appointed time,
    then when it comes I?ll be ready,
    I will fight my rescuer,
    for that is how I?ll be set free.
    Slipping on my mask of evil,
    putting on black gloves stained with innocent blood,
    I step forward into the nightmare that has become my life,
    becoming once more Darth Redav.
    Waiting for rescue,
    waiting for freedom,
    waiting for comfort,
    waiting for love.
    Poor Obi-Wan! :_|
    Blackness fills my soul,
    I suffocate under its grip,
    no one to save me,
    no one here to care.
    That just about broke my heart! :_|
    =D= Well written, it was a nice read...this is coming from someone who (dare I say) dislike poetry.
    I found this section most interesting.
    My apprentice will find him,
    help save him he will,
    in turn save himself,
    from the clutches of darkness they will be torn away.
    Is this refering to Anakin & Kenshin? The reason I ask is that I don't recall Kenshin being referred to as Obi-Wan's apprentice. Or did I overlook/forget?
    Anyway, I enjoyed reading this and I find it a good side-line addition to the ItS Saga.:)
    very good poem. i didn't understand some of it, as i am unfamiliar with the ItS series, but i could understand the emotions of it and you did a fine job of getting them across.
    Perhaps I should write some happier poems then. :)
    Well... Obi-Wan did have a little hand in his son's training, but was not his Master. Anakin, was Obi-Wan's unofficial apprentice. I hinted at this in TRT with the meditation scene where Obi-Wan was helping Anakin meditate, but it didn't seem to come across, which is why I added an additional scene to the new version of TRT. :D
    Anyway, I enjoyed reading this and I find it a good side-line addition to the ItS Saga. Thanks :)
