I don't remember much about the cartoon show except for the tears of agony and screams of rage and the many sleepless nights of drug therapy.

That's basically what it was. On acid.

 

It was marginally better than the "Where is Waldo" cartoon of the same period.

 

I'm actually surprised Back to the Future Part II got that much press in the last week. I expected just a few nods but not everything including Time and Newsweek. One good thing about it is it puts all those stupid memes with premature future dates to rest.

 

It got the press because of how much that was predicted came true, but also because of its ties to a classic film.

 

The product placement (for the original movie at least) was chosen because the specific companies used had different logos in the 50s than they did in the 80s. For the sequel, they used the same brands but now with "futuristic" logos. Pepsi Perfect anyone?

 

Only 5 more years until human boxers are replaced by robots.
