Buff, NY Buffalo Bisons Star Wars Night - June 22, 2013

I realized that we didn't have a thread about the event. I will use this thread to add important details everyone needs to know like arrival times, parking, etc.

 

First up, I can confirm a new addition this year!

Antoine and Victor will be performing the National Anthem before the game in costume! Antoine will supply the music via his violin and Victor will be singing.

Does anyone have an Imperial flag that can be used at SWN? We have clearance to fly the flag during the game.

 

Aw, I would've thought Bisons would be buying their own Imperial and Alliance standards.

 

So don't kill me, but I'm going to have to completely back out of my availability to attend this. Due to this week's events, I was unable to make it out to Oklahoma for my friend's wedding. His Buffalo reception is June 22nd, so as I'm missing the actual wedding, I feel morally obligated to attend the local reception.

Ummmmm yeah i have a imperial and rebel flag...although it does say star wars on bottom of flag/logo.....oh wait should I have said rebellion flag ...don't want anyone thinking dukes of hazard lol

 

The Bisons released the new SWN logo yesterday. We can now talk about it and post it in public forums.

 

Oh, dang. Now I wanna come, so I can get one of those awesome jerseys...

 

There was some coverage on channel 4 announcing the event as well as releasing the logo.

 

Please don't. We need you for the duels...

 

If anyone could do it with a broken leg it'd be The North Ridge...

 

For anyone taking part in their 1st SWN, and all other veterans:

1. Stay hydrated! Start loading up on water a few days prior to the event.

2. Change the batteries in your saber the day of the event. You may hear preferences to one kind over another- regardless change them and bring some spares.

3. Double check that you have all of your costume pieces before you leave the house. Do a few test runs of any new costume pieces.

4. Get a good night's sleep before the event.

5. Please be courteous of others in the changing room. Some costumers require more room to get ready while others only need a little space. Please take your sabers and leave the gun cases stacked away in the hallway, or keep them in your car. They take up a lot of real valuable real estate in the changing room.

6. Have fun with your family and friends, but please keep the changing area to the event participants. To be clear - NO FRIENDS OR FAMILY IN THE CHANGING AREA. Same applies to the after party.

7. Once the event is over, help is needed transporting the table supplies to vehicles. NO ONE SHOULD LEAVE UNTIL THE SUPPLIES AND COSTUMES HAVE BEEN PACKED FOR TRANSPORTATION.

 

Be sure to remember to Scotch Guard your costumes. One can has lasted me a few years for my white costume. We will have hundreds of people touching the costumes and you never know !!

Scotch guard is available at WalMart and I have seen it at Home Depot.

 

I'm available to help out if needed! Since i'm not officially a member, and have no costume. But i have 2 sabers and my time, and my camera.

Keep an eye on Dan and make sure he takes a break. He never takes a break no matter what costume he is in.
