Buff, NY Buffalo Comicon - October 7, 2012

Date: Sunday October 7
Time: 9am (Setup), Appearance 10am - 4pm (Shifts ok)
Location: Marriott Inn, Millersport Highway, Amherst (near UB North Campus)


Emil (from Queen City Bookstore) is organizing the Buffalo Comiccon event this October (http://www.buffalocomicon.com/). After a successful appearance at Free Comic Book Day in May, he has asked us to appear as a part of his Comiccon festivities.

He is renting a hotel room for us to change and stash our belongings while we appear in costume. He is also getting lunch for the group.


What's been requested:

Table - Non-costumed members who are willing to help with the table will be able to contribute here. We will need some folks to help with setting this up around 9am before the actual convention begins.

Photo Appearances - Costumed members will likely be free to roam, but Emil has given us an area to put up the photo backdrop. We will need some folks to help with setting this up around 9am before the actual convention begins.

Dueling Demos - Not as full of a production as the Bisons appearance, but Emil has asked if possible that we present some dueling demos. We will have an area for duels that will be roped off from the crowd. This can be as simple as individual duels between members strung along one after another. Emil has asked the first demo start around 12 noon. We can repeat the same demo or do different demos throughout the day depending on how much material people come up with by then.

It's been suggested that folks who do not want to commit to the whole day take shifts so we have enough people throughout the day. Please post if you can make it, if you're costuming, and if you care to participate in dueling.

I'm a maybe, not sure how work will be. if I'm in town I'll be there!

 

I am in for the entire day!

 

I can be there by approx. 1 pm until the end. I'd prefer to work the table, but if a generic Jedi is needed, then I will do it.

BTW...would love to duel if I could borrow a saber to do so....and also would love to get some practice in beforehand so I look a tad cooler doing it. LOL

Much as I'd love to be there, I will be unable to make it to this event, as it's on a day when I have a performance.

 

Just to amend this... I'm in for all day and I'm planning on bringing Artoo with me for the event.

 

Just curious, what was Steve Losey like before the upgrade to 2.0? Did I know him during his 1.x operating system?

Hey what about me.... i was the first one to reply, although i think i got lost in transfer from the temp boards.... but anyways.... im in for it all....dueling. ...costuming....working the table....crowd control... you name it ill do it......

 

Will be in the Great White North for Canadian Thanksgiving.
