Buff, NY Buffalo Comicon - October 7, 2012

We will both be there, but we are dealing with 3 tables.

I will very likely be in town now. There is a slight chance of being out of town but that looks more end of oct-ish at the soonest. So I expect to be there the entire time

 

I will be there all day. Bringing Vader and crewman. Hoping to get a little work done on the Gonk (need legs and feet)

I have some PVC pipe that might make good Gonk legs. Just needs to be bisected for length.

We are NOT costuming on that day. We will be dealing at this convention. Norma will be working with us at our tables and will not be available to work the North Ridge table.

Hey everyone!! ::waves:: Finally decided to tune in again and get on the "real" boards to find this.

I can't help out, but I am hoping to be in attendance with my two little nephews to show them the type of thing I'm into. I'll swing by and say hello!

 

I will be there as imperial gunner all day. My temp response did not move over on Anna's list. I thought when she put Steve Losey 2.0, it meant both Steves. Also, who is the leader for this event ? Are blasters allowed for this?

 

I don't plan to costume for this, but I will work the table. Are we doing anything special like raffles or getting donations for Compass House?

I'm interested in this event and I'm going to try and make it but i wont know for sure until tomorrow evening. My schedule is kind of crazy for October. I'm trying to work more now, so that I have most of November and December free.

Hi there, I've never been to the Buffalo Comicon...are there many(any?) vendors with any Vintage (Kenner 70's-80's) Star Wars, or is it mostly comics? Thanks!

Update:

Emil has expanded how many banquet/conference rooms he is using for the convention. Part of this is to give us a changing area that is closer to the floor. Therefore, we will NOT be getting a guest room for our changing purposes. We will have one partition of a banquet room entirely for the North Ridge. This will likely end up giving us more "floor space" for our belongings and allows more people to change at any given time, but it comes with a small caveat:

From Emil:
"On the "dressing room" space i've set aside for you guys. For security we can have your team ask a hotel employee every time you folks need to get in there, because there is NO key they will give out, or we can leave a tiny opening at walls to enter and exit. It's your call whatever you'd like you can decide on Sunday. Any questions let me know."

For safety I'd personally opt for the first option of asking to be let in. It is slightly less convenient but it keeps us on the first floor of the hotel and keeps us from constantly going "who has the room key(s)" during the event. However, I'm going to ask Emil to see if our area is adjacent to this changing room. If it is, we may just luck out.

One option we may want to consider is to have a "room watch" of one person every half hour/hour to stay back and guard belongings or allow people into the space as needed. If we keep the shifts short enough it would allow everyone plenty of time to enjoy the con and keep our stuff safe.

 

I would love to make it tomorrow. Let see what the day brings...

 

So just an update, I will have to leave around 2, but I will be there for the whole morning.
