I remember in issue 2 with Dawn taking a bath, I had to read athat latter so my co-workers weren't thinking I was looking at porn. Did you notice one of the putti with a "B" on his shoulder?

 

I just went back and looked at that Olga, I wonder what the signficance of that is?

 

So there's a Halloween party I'm going to this Saturday and everyone's supposed to be dressing up as a Joss Whedon character. I don't know Firefly so well so I'd rather do something from Angel or Buffy.

I didn't know I'd be able to make it until tonight, and I really don't have a lot of cash, so I'm trying to think of something that's easy to put together- I'm pretty positive I could do a pretty great job of painting my face so I'm trying to come up with demons I could do . . .


Right now I'm thinking of either going as

a. Halfrek

b. a Lornette

I'm leaning more toward Halfrek because I don't really have anything flashy enough to wear to be a Lornette. Plus I'd also need to acquire some horns. Also I think I could do the Halfrek thing by just buying some face paint and nothing more.


But I'm curious if anyone here can think of a more major/recognizable character that would be easy to dress up as? (note, I'm not adverse to cross-dressing, but I don't really have any manly clothes. )

And also if anyone has tips/suggestions on buying face paints . . . (what works well, what works terrible . . . I might just fall back on buying some brown eyeliner with which to draw on my face, ha ha.)

 

You can go as Tara and I can go as Willow. Or vice versa.

The problem with dressing up as a human-looking character is that the only things that can make me look like them is hair and clothing. And I don't really have any clothing that wouldn't look like mine. And no money for new ones and no money for wigs.

I TOTALLY WANTED TO DO THAT WHEN I FIRST HEARD ABOUT THE PARTY!!! I also want to be Lorne's mom. And the singing demon.

Screw what I just said up there . . . I'll be your Tara.

 

Zas, you could totally pull off Drusilla or Faith easily. With Faith you could wear leather and do a fake arm tattoo. Just wear a sleeveless t-shirt and bring a stake. [image=http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.purkis/faith.jpg]

 

I thought of Drusilla but I'd still need a wig and a fancy dress . . . Faith is a little more doable but I think someone else is already being her (I would have been tempted to be her with a stab wound otherwise, ha ha.)

 

Hmmmm... dark Willow wouldn't be difficult to do.. you'd just need a good makeup job, and I'm sure you could do that... black contacts would be key, but not totaly necessary.

I think Halfrek is a good one actually, especially if you can do makeup well. Just remember to wear a pendant or amulet of some kind.

 

Lol, I take it getting away with drawing on faces wherever possible appeals to you as well?

 

I really love painting anything, I want more of a challenge, honestly . . . Plus if I wear colored contacts then I have to wear glasses. I have to double check with my sister who is wearing what already. I'll be bringing my camera for sure.

 

I was totally seduced into spending my grocery and art supply $ on vegas-y clothing and green face paint and horns . . . Lornette it is! Party tonight, yayayay.

the first slayer who dressed her husband up as
Inara
two people in suits with blue gloves (Firefly thing? I don't know it)
Illyria
the wrath demon from the end of season 5 (who brought a jello heart and jello shots)
Angel
and Spike. (The Angel guy went to Angelus at one point . . . And succumbed to all the women's wishes that he kiss Spike, mwa ha ha.)
Me the Lornette
and tons of other people who didn't go with the theme, losers.

Also Dark Willow's husband refused to dress up as anything at all and from that point on was referred to as the Peepee demon.
