That's ok about AotC. I go through love/hate cycles with it. I hated it for quite a while recently, but I watched it about two weeks ago and now I love it again.

The mini saber replicas are awesome, but I don't think I have the money to buy them (once I buy one, I'll need all of them.) The same with the mini busts. They're almost too neat.

Life's been ok. School is boring. Not much more to say.

For some reason I'm having a really hard time this year remembering that winter is almost here. I wonder why that is...

Nebraska's weather is unusual. We've had snow in October before. The biggest storm was October of 1997 when we got 13 inches of snow.

Hmm, if we do get snow, it'd be a great time to read "The Long Winter" by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I don't mind getting snow as long as its just an inch or two. I don't want the big stuff until closer to Christmas.

 

13 inches? That's it? Back in North Dakota we've had over three feet in one night. And that's not the worst of it. I think we had eight to twelve foot drifts in '94 or something like that.

 

It was before I moved here, but I think the problem with the October storm in 97 (or was it 96?) was that it was really wet snow, and it was before most of the trees had lost their leaves, so it broke a lot of branches and knocked out power and stuff. Although I totally agree that 13 inches sounds like nothing.

 

It was 1997 because I was going to SCC at the time and my school only closed for one lousy day while the whole public school system & my old elementary school (not public scbool system related) got the whole week off.

Yeah, the power was out for a lot of people and branches were down and everything was a big mess. It would seem like nothing for people used to more than that, i.e. Colorado, North Dakota & Minnesota, but it was a big deal here.

We've gotten smaller snow storms since then - I don't remember if it was last year or two years ago, but we had snow storms two weeks in a row that closed school both times. Must have been a (puny) six inch or maybe a little more, snowfall both times.


I don't think we'll get the real stuff until probably Thanksgiving. Always seems to come when people are travelling to go see relatives.

Ooooh, but we had to make it up! We had to be at school at like 7:15 til 3:45 (If I remember correctly) for about a month. It was awful! It didn't help that the snowstorm decimated the trees in my neighbourhood and we didn't have electricity for five or six days. Oh, and my cat died that week too. *Sigh* That was an interesting winter.
