One more Sleep until the launch window opens!

    About time!
    CLICK ME!!

Lauch is set for 3:51 p.m. EDT July 13 (local time). That means we're only 14 hours ahead, making it 0550 Thursday Morning for us on Eastern Aussie Time. I may find myself in front of a tv for that, just in case. I may find myself watching NASA TV (see my last post).

    Bastards!
    The launch has been cancelled!
Something wrong with fuel sensors or something...so it's cancelled untill it's fixed.

The shuttles always used to get delayed. That's why they all (including STS-114) have launch windows.

There's some very pretty pictures on the website atm, some 3006x2000 in 300dpi (standard digital photo format) that you could print yourself or take to a photo lab.

The Launch date is now 10:39 a.m. EDT July 26. That makes it 12:39AM Wednesday July 27 for us.
    This means it's 5 days and 12 hours until STS-114!. [face_dancing]

I'm assuming yes, so does this mean it's 10:40pm for us West Aussies?
    I'm excited :)

    EDIT:
My dad just walked in and told me it launches in about 40 minutes.

    And awwwaaaaay we go!

Definitely worth staying up for, I love shuttle launches. Can't believe Channel 9 actually had half-decent coverage of it. ;)

I channel surfed, but avoided Aussie commentry. There was one (Seven I think) that had NBC coverage.

Darn that external footage rocked. See the ice on the tiles on the underside of the shuttle? I just love the Mission Control TV guy saying "Discovery is now at this altitude, located so many miles downstrem of Kennedy, traveling at this number of THOUSAND MILES AN HOUR.

    Oh yeah. Goosebumps aplenty.

Try those links I posted on page one.
