so i am to gather that everyone likes dooku's lightsabre best?
    i personally like mace's, purple.
wats withthe colours? all the "bad guys" have red sabres and blaster lasers and the "good guys" have blue or green?
is that a pre-requisite of being sith or jedi?
    sorry for changing original topic.
(i went on thursday so didnt get to see all the lightsabre weilding fans, ;) )

If you're going to make your own sabre, please use caution! I recently had a friend cut through part of his finger (yep through the bone and everything) trying to make his own lightsabre.

    lightsabre = cool

cutting finger off = not cool

*THIS HAS BEEN A DINGBAT PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT, DON'T DO DO DRUGS, AND DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE*

Dingbah, you friend is just clumsy!
Yes when sawing and cutting make sure you cut AWAY from you and don't cut yourself! :p

Anyway for the premiere, my friends and i made our own- pvc pipe with odds and ends we found from hardware house painted chrome and black.
Then we took a florescent tube, wraped in contact paper to give it colour, powered with a 9V battery and there you have it:
a saber for UNDER $20 that glows 10 times brighter than the toys.
the only negative was the fluro is really delicate so u cant fight with them (next time i think we will put some kind of clear pastic pipe over to give them more strength)

    They are good

but they have no Dooku saber yet, so i'm still basically striking out on my own.

I've found the right piece of metal, found the right way to complete the rear handgrip, filed down the piece of metal for the front handgrip

All i have to figure out is the thumb switch, and the pommel. Then i'm done

I've built one already, but that just the warmup, looked pretty crap (ie: had duct tape on it, not good for an ornamental saber)

I can put a few pics if you want, but seeing as though i reckoned it was crap, i'm dreading the backlash i'd get

Jedi_Master_Damir - You may find it difficult to find Bigyellowbox components, the pipes in particular. Also, you will also need to find some 'slip joint poly washers'.

If you can find these components, please tell the rest of us where you got them.

Best of luck to you though.
