Burger King Toys thread

I know we kind of touched on this topic in the Collecting forum, but I figured I'd start one designated solely for them. So feel free to post what you have, what you don't or even what you need.

I had a 2nd X-Wing and R2 but I gave the X-Wing to a little kid who got stuck with a Chewbacca plush and didn't look too happy about it I gave the other R2 to my son who is all of a sudden all wrapped up in SW! He even does a pretty good impression of Yoda

 

so far we have.... darth vader, R2. Chewbacca, x-wing, pod racer, padme, palpatine, luke, ewok, yoda, and jabba the hutt. hoping to score a few more this weekend.

I found Princess Leia today. I never realized that there are so few Burger Kings around. I've hit the only two I know of. One in Brockton and one in Somerville. Next step: Check Burger King website for other locations.
Sigh. Good thing I like burgers.

Okay folks. I scored huge this morning! The Burger King on Route 37 just got their new shipment in this morning and they still had some old ones.

would it be corny to suggest trading with each other so we can all end up with a complete collection??

 

Corny? Of course not. It's great that everyone is posting their haves and wants. Just try to keep the trading in PM form since direct buying/selling/trading is discouraged in public posting most of the time.

Right now all I have is the first wave plus the Vader. I have a source in Ohio for the more recent waves but I missed out on waves 2 and 3 completely I think. I'm just going to have to wait a while to see what I can find on my own before bugging people for their extras.

yeah i kinda figure we all just see what we have when the whole promotion is over then have a trading party. i would probably just want to trade, no buying/selling. kinda reminds me of being a kid......which i will be forever ; )

 

Funny you should mention a trading party. I was just going over my stash and have a few extras to trade for the few I am still missing.

Why don't we tag that on to next month's get together?

 

Bumped again. I finally scored the Vader today! I stopped into to BK about an hour ago to grab a bite on my way into work. The lady behind the counter who's always there when I go in lets me pick 2 from the box. So as she was bringing the box over, the guy infront of me asked if he could pick the toy for his son. The lady said "yes" and let him. After he picked out a Landspeeder, she took the toy that was in the kids meal bag out and put it back into the box. It was a Vader! After I tucked my eyeballs back into their sockets I snagged him and one of the last 3PO's they had. Now I don't have to resort to eBay! Oh happy days!

 

My final "bump" of this thread. Managed to score a couple more as the promotion wound down. I have to say, I really did enjoy this tie-in so much more than the TPM promotion from 1999. I'm sure my arteries could have gone without the weekly visits to BK, but it was fun. The fact that BK allowed you to buy 2 toys for $1.29 helped as well.

 

I have updated my list of BK toys I have, and all the doubles I have and don't have.

 

Just a reminder that the "official" swap party will be July 24th @ Eric & Sarah's.

 

I won't be at the party, but I do have an extra Obi.
