When I build my own, this is what I have to have on:

Mayonnaise, mustard, cheese.

Dil pickle, lettuce, tomato, and onion.

To make it decadent, grill the onions, add mushrooms, and bacon!

And natch, you gotta have a side order of fries. Parmesan fries are the best.

 

I make my burger patties with garlic, oregano, Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. I usually just make it a cheese burger, but if I'm eating out I like trying different menu items.

For example: yesterday I went to a new burger joint in town. Their "star" burger had bacon, Gouda cheese, arugula and one fried egg. One of the best I've had.

I grind up a nice sirloin steak to make my burgers. I like them lean.

 

I wish i had Hamburger meat more often, they taste better that way but i usually have pre made frozen ones i do my best to salvage. Mostly just mustard/onions/lettuce/roasted garlic when i have it and my dad stuffs his with feta cheese. Damn it now i want hamburgers

also I just ctrl+F'ed and missed your post. I'm man enough to admit it.

 

My favorite hamburgers are those that include grilled pineapple slices. The truth is that I am actually much more interested in the pineapple than the meat to begin with. Going further, I wish they wouldn't try to "grill" it, either. But most places won't serve you pineapple as a main course, while somehow hamburger is all the rage, so this is what I have to live with.

-60/30/10 beef/fat/bacon plus three drops of your own blood.
-Grind.
-Gently scoop into rough patties.
-Season with more salt than you would think appropriate.
-Sear to mid-rare in heavy cast iron.
-Crumble a decent bleu cheese, add to burger in pan.
-Bring burger to desired temperature (mid is recommended).
-Add sautéed onions, bacon crumbles, over easy egg.
-Remove skin from pineapple. Discard.
-Cut rings out of pineapple. Discard these too.
-Place on brioche bun with bleu cheese dressing.
-Consume.
-Die of clogged arteries, satisfied with how you went out.
