    Thanks Falconfan and Chilla! Im making it itno a shirt and a purse for her hehe

    Ok here's my update.. But let me explain. Deb suggested that i post some of my costumes, since costuming is an art in itself. In simple terms, you're pretty much taking another artists idea, and recreating it in your own way. There is a great skill involved, and many of those skills are similar to drawing or painting. From making your own patterns, to embroidery, to painting on a design. It's all art. With the permission of our Mod, i'm posting some of my costuming work. Thanks to Deb for the suggestion, and i hope you all enjoy looking at them!

    First, my Mirax costume. This is my pride and joy! I'm constantly upgrading it, adding new things and figuring out new ways to work with the graphic. This particular costume was harder than most would think. The main issue was consistancy with the comics. I took the main elements i felt were needed, and did my best to recreate them

    A look at the front(and a nice Jack Sparrow and Will Turner)
    [image=http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/4232/hotnesssammichdj5.jpg]

    A closer look at the back graphic
    [image=http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/9533/101935666ddebabe51boul2.jpg]
    I have since redone the back, it looks about the same, just held on differently

    And to go with the Corellian Theme of this post, i just recently completed my CorSec officer uniform. This one was also a bit inconsistant... It took longer to make than i planned. The hardest thing was finding the shirt in the right color. I then cut the sleeves off and made the jacket, sewing up the holes left in the rest of the shirt to make it accurate

    Your costuming is LOVELY!
    :D
    I especially like Mirax's...
    I've always been a Mirax fan however!

    Thanks! I'm really proud of those two costumes

    Another Mirax fan! Yay!!! She was the first costume i ever wanted to do, and the first i tackled. It's ALOT of fun being her. We actually had a Han at this past convention i was at, two Corellians together? Boy was that fun ;)

    I forgot to mention that i usually dye my hair black(with Manic panic!) but i didnt this round, for a few reasons. The dye didnt come in on time, so i didnt have the time. And i also knew i would be getting pictures dressed as Iella.. and she just doesnt have black hair.

    Dress as Mirax 24/7.
    She's the best rebel EVER. :D
    I'm more of an Imperial fan myself...
    I would LOVE to try the Ysanne costume, but I'm afraid at a squiddly 5ft 2in, it'd look silly. Same as the infamous Leia dress, or Jaina... Or anything remotely taller. DAMN.
    :D
    Well, make more costumes, I'd love to see them!
    :D

    I would love to dress as her 24/7. I actually think it's great to wear costumes in public.. like not at an event. I have a certain cape i like to wear.. and i sometimes wear my Mirax jacket.

    Size matters not!!!! Leia and Jaina are actually pretty short. Jaina is something like 4'9" haha. But your height shouldnt hold ya back! I'm actually pretty tall for Mirax, and the boots dont help either. An Iceheart costume would be SUPER. I've seen a few and they all look so great! I think with that one, no matter your size, you'll be powerful. Heck, you're in blood red!

    I have a few more i've done... I just didnt want to post them all at once ;)

    Holy Moly, Asho!! Fantastic!! I know I've seen some shots of the Mirax costume before, but these are even better! And the CorSec uniform looks awesome!! Sheesh--I can't even get my head around how much work has to go into something like this (our own beloved Obi-Dawn Kenobi has hinted at it, with some of her gorgeous Padme gowns), but it has to take many months to get to a final product... I can't get over the jacket graphic--it looks perfect! And all the little details, like the weapons and utility belts and all that...amazing! And LOL at your being "help captive" by "Pirates..." ;) [face_laugh] What a project--and what a talent! Awesome!! Thanks for sharing these (and will look very much forward to some more!)!

    Thanks FF! The newer pics of the Mirax are my "updated" version. Shockingly there's more to update! CorSec is so fun to wear, especially when people recognize it!

    Obi-Dawn does an AMAZING job on her costumes. Padme gowns are by far the hardest things to make in my opinion, and she just.. wow.. She's amazing. It does take alot of time to do any costume, although some take longer than others. It all starts with research, and then you go from there! Sometimes the research alone can take up to a year!(i met an anakin who studied the costume from head to toe for over a year before cutting his fabric)

    Mirax was very naughty.. She stole the pirate's rum. they werent too happy about that ;) But they came to terms with the fact that we're all one big happy pirate family :)

    I hope to have another thing to post soon... cross your fingers!

    Well, I'm back from Dragoncon!(ok i was back a while ago i just totally forgot to post... i dont know HOW but i did.. ugh).

    Anyways... I have one newer costume to show, as well as a little fun thing.

    The costume, well... This one involved more "art" than i thought. I actually had to paint my own patch with the most tempermental squeeze paint EVER. What happened was, i needed a patch and my friend just didnt have time to get it done for me, so i made it myself. I had to sew a piece of grey fabric onto my blue flightsuit(which i made too), and then paint it to my liking. No mistakes could be made, so of course i made a few. But.. It was my first itme working with fabric paint on this level.. And it also showed me just how hard it is to paint since my surgery. But it's not THAT bad.. i guess

    [image=http://static.flickr.com/89/228272537_9eb62722d5_o.jpg]

    The costume that is from is my Mirax flightsuit, which is read about in "X-wing: Rgue Squadron". It was loads of fun to wear, except when i had to sit down. Velcro... oh how i hate the velcro. BUt enough complaining. Here it is!

    [image=http://static.flickr.com/82/248318289_8424253b69_o.jpg]
    [image=http://static.flickr.com/96/235252956_94c83e44b9_o.jpg](Yes.. that is Michael Stackpole himself)

    And the little fun thing. Well, as some of you know, Amy, the Artsy Ewok herself, was at Dragoncon. I had the pleasure of escorting her to her panel, and being able to chat with her for a bit. She's SO AWESOME, and so nice! I was very sad that i had spent all of my $$ before i could buy her sketchbook... Unfortunatly artist dont take credit cards ;). But i did have the chance to get a picture with her! I'm not in a SW costume, but i thought i'd post it since it's two of us from here(ok she's more of a poster than me, but still!). Excuse the look on my face, and all that. That particular costume was HOT

    [image=http://static.flickr.com/84/235576288_0ab52335ce_o.jpg]

    And here's the SW Artist panelist with myself and my friend, Tally(who escorted Cat).
    [image=http://static.flickr.com/84/235473415_957735e43e_o.jpg]

    I hope everyone is doing awesome! I've seen some great work on here lately and i cant wait to see more! I, myself, am hoping to start on a SW drawing project... Thanks to FalconFan really. She gave me some tips on how to work around my shoulder issue, and i plan to do it. So big BIG thanks to her, and her encouragement.

    Hi Asho! Great to see some new pics of your fabulous costumes (and to hear you'll be working on some art of the regular kind soon! :D )! Your Mirax flightsuit costume looks fabulous (and so jealous you got to meet Michael Stackpole and the Amy, the ArtyEwok!): great job with the detailing on it, and that patch looks good too (despite the paint being hard to work with!)! Sounds like you had a wonderful time at DragonCon, and we'll definitely be looking forward to seeing your new art project, too! **tries not to be impatient!** ;)

    I can hear your Velcro now....crrrrrriiipp. [face_laugh] Your Mirax costumes are sweet. The one from Saturday was particularly good. Is your CorSec uniform standard? I ask because in the fan film I am in, we are using CorSec uniforms from Revelations so if yours is the same, maybe you can be in the film :D. We are shooting it in Westminster. I don't think we are using CorSec until the second film(it is a Clone Wars trilogy).

    Thanks, Deb!
    It was an awesome time! I recommend everyone going to Dragoncon. The Art panel was amaZing. The SW artists showed off some of their work, and it made me so jealous!

    But i'm starting progress on that picture, and hopefully it wont take too long. I just got a new job and they work me looonnggg days

    HEY!!!! OMG you found me!
    Thanks for the compliment. Your Leia was awesome :)

    My CorSec uniform is standard. Taken right from the comics. I think the ones in Revelations are different though(i'm not sure).. But i'll check. I'd love to be in a film! Especially in CorSec.. Since i always feel like the lonely little officer haha
