FF:VIC Bus trip to the Powerhouse Museum.

Anyone that wants to go to the MoM exhibit at the Powerhouse....PM me and I'll give you details of our bus trip.

Oh what the Heck...here's the details.

Leaving October 18th (after lunch)
Staying in Sydney at the "Wake-up Sydney" back-packers retreat.
Speading Saturday at the Museum and sightseeing around Sydney.
Saturday night is at your leasure.
Sunday we will be attending the Sydney Skyforce full day Mini-Con.
Leaving Sydney Sunday after 5pm to drive back to Melbourne.
Arrive back in Melbourne Monday 21st early AM.

Cost is $250 per head.
Includes travel costs, Hotel, Museum, Mini-con, and a trip on the Monorail.

That's just before school finishes...it certainly sounds like awesome fun though. I'll hopefully be stopping over in Sydney on my way to QLD this November, so I'll try and see MoM then.

 

Sorry Hawky, had to fit it in with the Sydney Convention...and that dates been set for over a year now.

 

Ah well, c'est la vie. As long as I get up there eventually, I don't really mind.

Bad timing, it seems. Ah well, next year half of VicFF will be in various universities, and consequently will have a lot more free time.

 

there's no free time at uni Hawk! it's all taken up at the pub, even lecture time

 

I'd give up a bit of my pub time to go to MoM, as any self-respecting fanboy should.

It's funny 'cause in your life you'll come across events that you just can't miss out on because the opportunity will never repeat itself, well this is one of those occasions.

Now I concede that if you're studying/working and can't afford the time off, or if the price is to high that may be a hinderance. But if you're not going because you simply can't be bothered, you're missing out on a once in a lifetime activity. Sure you can visit the MoM in the next couple of months by yourself, but to do it with the FANS - Victorian fans at that - is the real bonus of it all.

Like LVFF, I was at the MoM on the opening night too, so I don't NEED to go again, however I haven't had a moment's doubt about going on this trip (a bus full of SW fans, a visit to the MoM and going to the Skyforce mini-con), it's gonna be the perfect SW weekend.

There are some things that you can just can't afford to miss.

Jedi-Con was huge.

The guy in Sydney did a fantastic job of putting together a really great event.

Both the guests were really easy to talk to and just seemed happy to be there. (especially Zak)

The dealers were awesome (picked up an interactive R2-D2) and the range of stuff was out of this world.

They had X-Box, Game Cube, & PS2 games there that you could play, Roll Play games, Card Games, Sword Fighting clinics, and the usual Trivia, Pictionary, and auctions.

All up....a truly awesome day and one that goes down in my diary as a top class event.

 

With regards to my comment earlier about this being a once in a lifetime event ..... well I was right! The whole weekend, especially the bus trips, was everything I imagined it to be, and more so.

So when are we going again???
