why are we posting cat pictures

 

I know everyone knows what a lolcat is, but I found Wikipedia's description amusing. The captions of the two pics at the top of the article are also funny, in a dry way ("A lolcat asking for a cheeseburger" and "A lolcat depicting a confused cat").


A lolcat is an image combining a photograph, most frequently of a cat, with a humorous and idiosyncratic caption in (often) broken English?a dialect which is known as ?lolspeak,? ?kitteh,? or ?kitty pidgin? and which parodies the poor grammar typically attributed to Internet slang. Many terms now in common use on the Internet?so-called "jargon"?originated or were popularized on Usenet.



I'm understanding this to mean they are talking about "IMHO", "ROTFL", etc., but I will defer to the professional geeks on this board.
