FF:NZ By what method should Chansplace attempt to procure the Whitcoulls DVD display?

That could be a VERY bad sign if they're getting rid of the display stand after only a week.

They'll be prepping for Christmas, and you'll probably find they need the floor space for racks that are allowed to hold more than one title...

 

Did you ask at the Riccarton Whitcoulls at all? If not, I might have to storm the store with my Kenner® Luke Skywalker? Lightsaber?...and then ask very nicely.

 

I was surprised to hear they were getting rid of it so soon as well, but I think JP is right. they only had a few E1 copies left, so I guess they didnt see the point in keeping the stand when they could put them on a stand with the other DVDs.

I asked riccarton already, Theyre the ones that said theyd be "holding onto it for a while". no harm in asking though, Sebious, you might ask nicer than I did

 

i have a feeling that most of the first release copies of the DVD will have been largely snapped up by the likes of us.......

 

Hmm. Might check if any Warehouse stores have the stands.

follow up story:

I got a call from whitcoulls south city (where I got the stand) on friday. I wasnt home, so they left a message and asked me to call back. Rather than call back, I dropped in to the store on my way home today.

The lady said they needed the stand back, as it was supposed to go to a different store, cashel St in central city. She said the roadshow rep would replace it with posters etc. then she made a critical error, she said it was up to ME whether I wanted to bring it back. Excuse my disrespect of the whitcoulls staff, but I said "no, I'd rather hold onto it, thanks."

I guess I'm lucky to have it!

yeah, ok, maybe they don't have that much power, but you never know, maybe they bear grudges, they could sign him up to book clubs, or make prank phone calls when on breaks......
