ST C-3PO and R2-D2 in Episode VII

My wish came true!! Just quoting something I wrote 20 days ago. Luke and R2 together again after 32 years!

 

Interesting you say that. I've heard this rumour before and when I saw the live stream yesterday I got bad vibes, almost as if he thought he was the star of the show. He was quite slimey to Carrie as well.

Still, I've not met him in person so I wouldn't like to assume anything. For me, SW without 3PO is like Superman without the "S" on his chest. He's an iconic symbol of the franchise (the droid, as opposed to Daniels).

Daniels dissing the prequels, even if as a joke? That's kinda disappointing.

 

I find it weird they would hype R2 (and to a lesser extent 3PO) at Celebration and based on rumors they barely appear, they have like 2 scenes and that's it.

 

it's hard for me. first movie I ever saw in the theater was ANH. I grew up on the OT. And I really really loved the PT too. Now I am excited for the ST, but it's hard when other's excitement is (at least partially) based on how different they are from the PT.

 

i don't give a damn.

 

2 scenes, seriously???? I hope that's not true. Looks like Han and Chewie are the only ones getting significant screen time---really it seems like 'the big 3' (let alone the 'big 6') coming back is a lot of BS.

I mean I know that we have to introduce the new characters, but I really thought the originals would be integral to the story and not glorified cameos......

 

yeah seriously those are the rumors, they only have like 2 scenes unless we see them every time we see Leia and Luke is a tiny or cameo role. Seems like only half of those have decent roles Han/Chewie/Leia (Leia seems to have a decent sized role) the 3 others not as much.

 

Will C3PO find love in this one?

When i see them for the first time i will honestly just smile !

 

Could just be the lighting... they flopped 3PO between the table & the moon chair, and while that kinda thing is not uncommon it'd be a little less likely if 3PO was meant to have one specific arm darker than the others. Maybe that specific picture/pose of 3PO, before being slapped all over merchandise, is what started the "black/gunmetal arm" reports?

 

does the arm being darker means that 3PO is rusting???

it took him almost 6 decades to have one rusted arm, how long until his entire body becomes rusty?
will we see 3PO fall apart in IX followed by a funeral for Goldenrod???

 

Why does Chewie literally look like he has a beard on top of his natural fur? Honestly, look at it.

Did anyone notice how Anthony Daniels goofed at star wars celebration? He was doing a little impression of C3P0 on the stage and he said it backwards.
He goes "hello i am CP30 human cyborg relations." I don't know if he was over excited or just not really into it anymore but that kinda bothered me.
The guy should know his characters name by now. Sure hope a mistake like that isn't left in the movie by accident.

I'd also like to see much more of R2 and 3P0 in the new trilogy than what was in the prequels. I missed their comedy and it felt more like cameos. Attack of the clones had them the most and still probably only for 15 minutes total. It was pathetic.

 

I think he was mocking a mistake on twitter where something official spelt it as CP-30
