C-3PO and R2-D2..?

But see, R2 was around people who DID know, namely Yoda, Obi-Wan, and, most likely, Bail. A lot of what R2 knows he wasn't necessarily around for; he just overheard it. Which is interesting, because even though what we're watching is a story, it's actually a story of the story being told by R2. We're seeing things as R2 described them to the Keeper of the Journal of the Whills, pieced together from what he had seen and overheard, one hundred years after the Battle of Endor. That means that what we're seeing is not necessarily precisely how it happened. That adds and interesting layer to the story. It makes it that much more of a myth and legend.

What I mean is that...since Obi-wan and Yoday are still alvie, don't they still know too? I mean they were there at the time...they know Anakin turned to the dark side...I guess I'm just a little confused.
