C-3PO made by Cybot Galactica??

In The Essential Guide to Droids, C-3PO is said to have been built and produced by Cybot Galactica, a major droid manufacturing corporation. However, in Episode I, Anakin Skywalker is apparently 3-PO's maker. How can this be???

 

C-3PO was originally built 80 years prior to TPM. Anakin rebuilt him.

 

Oh, I get it! Anakin was putting him together, as if from a kit. Where'd you learn that from?

Idiotic to some, perhaps, but definitely not to me. I like the origin of the droids the way it's been reveiled in the PT. A protocol droid coming from a boy skilled in mechanics and a mechanical droid coming from someone skilled in political protocol. There's a nice reflective balance about it.
