We are heading there the day before with as much stuff bought ahead of time that I can (food, dr pepper, beer) you know, the staples of life. :) I figure the extra room on the way back is where we will put all the good stuff we acquire during the 5 days. :)

Ok, I booked my flights today. I can go round trip from Sac for a little less than $120. Since it costs me $60 to fill my tank, and I know I'll need at least 2 tanks of gas just to GET there, I figured flying will be more beneficial to me. I called the Holiday Inn and they said that shuttles run from the airport all the time, and it's $15. Parking at the hotel is $17 per day, so again, the shuttle seemed like to a good deal. I'll make sure I bring extra money for taxis...since we are still all doing dinner one night in the city, right? Just thought I'd FYI all of this for anyone else in the group unsure of how to get to down to LA. There weren't a lot of the cheapest flight options left, so if you are thinking about flying, I'd start looking NOW...

That's a great price for the flight! If I weren't so dead-set on driving I'd consider it. I like having a car while I'm down there to get around. I may even be persuaded to carpool with people once we are all down there for dinners etc.(and I've unloaded my car into the hotel room).

Yeah, I really wanted to have my car with me, too. That was my one hang-up about flying. I want to be able to "go" when I want to, and not have to worry about a taxi or other transportation. That part will be a bummer for sure.:(

Alright, I can officially say I am getting excited about CIV now. :D
The plans are in place, the costumes are (slowly) coming together, and I am SO ready for a vacation.

Posted on the Rebel Legion boards:

Rebel Legion Mixer (formerly Rebel Legion Dinner)
Sunday, May 27 beginning at 6:00pm
    Westin Bonaventure Hotel
    Okay gang, here's the scoop:

The Good News: The Bonaventure has given us a very nice, affordable package and it includes a dance floor and a cash bar. The cost is $25 per person.

The Bad News: We need at least 100 people to commit to this.

Participation is open to friends, family, total strangers as long as they are accompanied by an RL member, Forum members, Jedi Assembly, FanForce, whomever. If we hit the number then we're good. If we don't hit the number then the cost will be more depending on how many sign up.

Once we look like we have our "guest list" assembled, I will post information for paying.

Please post your screenname, real name, and the number of people in your party.

For those who have special dietary needs, here is the menu:
    *Asian Veggie Spring Roll
    *Chicken Tenders
    *Swedish Meatballs
    *Mini Beef Burritos
*Chicken Quesadilla (chicken/melted cheese on folded flour tortilla)
    *Mini Crab Cakes
    *Seasonal Fruit Platter
    *Veggie Platter

The bar is a "No Host" so you will have to pay for drinks; please don't faint at the prices because the bar needs to clear at least $500 - otherwise we pay the difference.
    *soft drinks $4.25
    *mineral water $4.50
    *non-alcoholic beer $4.75
    *domestic beer $5.00
    *imported/micro-brew $5.50
    *bar selections (cocktails) $6.25
    *wine $6.50 per glass
    *champagne $7.00

If any SVRF members want to attend, please assign one member here to post how many in your group would be able to go on the RL forums in the "Celebration IV" thread. :)

As Club Liason, I think I should be the point of contact for any SVRF members wanting to attend. Just post here or send me a PM to let me know if you plan on attending.

How soon do you need a number, Matt?

Yeah, Max will be fun to deal with...we can pinch his cheeks and bounce him on our lap. We may not be able to get away with that with Tionne, huh?

Yeah, I'd probably send you through the nearest wall at light speed if you tried that with me. ;)

Has Max figured out counting yet? Is he balancing your checkbooks? I'm sure he will be in no time flat!

Oh, don't let me know. To avoid confusion and miscounting, just post for your group on the RL boards. :)

Actually, it'll be Carrie, with Natalie on her lap. :p

$17 per day parking even though you are a guest of the hotel? Ack!! I'm not used to that. No wonder I hate big cities.

So, do they sell parking places to people visiting the convention center? So, what are the chances we will arrive on Saturday, and as guests of the hotel, still have no place to park?
