C3PO says THANK GOD?

In ROTJ when C3PO and R2-D2 are captured by the stormtroopers and the ewoks come in and save them C3PO walks away and says something that sounds like thank God



Did anyone else hear this?

 

I don't think I heard that. Besides, 3PO is the Ewoks god, right?

 

I never heard it. Besides, he is always saying "Thank the maker" throughout the movies, so perhaps it was a screw up or bad audio when he say maker.

 

No, I've never heard anything like that. All I hear is ewok war cries and battle horns sounding.

 

I do heard him say Thanks god. I have always wonder what god was he refering too.

Well I checked it out, and for the first time I heard it. It definetely sound like 'Thank God'

He wasn´t referring to any particular god, he was just using a phrase that´s common to us.

He does. Its is faint because I never heard it before this thread. Its said as he is running away with the Ewoks attacking the stormies. It is quiet and not meant to be a foreground sound.

 

Why not using closed captions to see?

I'm almost positive that is what he says. I just watched ROTJ a couple of days ago and he does not say god.

I'm just really confused what your point is. Like I am thinking of starting a thread saying. "I think I hear Bib Fortuna say Ni Jabba no Badda". So what? Like at least follow it up with why you think that is strange, or why he shouldnt say "god" etc. I am just really confused what your point is.

Threepio says thank the maker in ANH I believe. He never says thank god anywhere in the series.

It strange because we never hear 'God' in any of the movies. It seems that in the GFFA God doesn't exist. That it why it is strange. If someone heard Palpatine say "I love marshmellows" in ROTJ there would be a thread here asking if anyone else heard what they heard.
