C3PO shot by a stormtrooper

Hey everyone, i was watching Empire Strikes Back yesterday, and i was wondering, in the Cloud City scene, 3po gets blown to bits by a StormTrooper. But my question is, why would the Stormtrooper shoot 3po....i understand if he saw a rebel, or an intruder, but he was a droid.....there was a droid who looked exactly the same that had just walked out.

Lando probably informed them of the Skywaler allies, by showing them security pictures of them and what not.

Also Stormtroopers are equipped with IFF.

The silver droid was probably under the direction of the Empire, hence the snide remark it made to C-3PO when leaving the room. I'm sure the trooper wasn't expecting another protocol droid, so he blasted it.

 

Maybe he was just a jackass, stormtroopers can prolly get away with whatever they want.

"Hey,you blasted my droid!"

"ya, and? you could be next, so shaddup"

 

i like how they used a voice that would NEVER come out of a stormtrooper say the line "Who are you?" I know, I know George was trying not to give it away but still the voice was rediculous!

 

The voice kinda reminded me of Yoda's actually....

 

IFF - indentification of friend or foe.

 

That was probably an Ugnaughts voice who was with the stormtroopers.

 

I thought the voice sounded like Yoda!

 

C-3PO was obviously in a place that he did not belong, and being short on tact said "I have to go warn the others" and got blasted.
