C4 Nametags - DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING A DESIGN IS TONIGHT!

I'm surprised that this hasn't come up yet, but I'm starting this thread because I've done it at the last two Celebrations and it went ov er really well. I say that we should make nametags so that we are able to identify fellow TF.N members out there that we talk to on here. Whatcha think? Anyone know of some good graphics that we could use for a background image? If you want to know how to make a nametag, I'm working on a website that shows how to do it.

 

Grimby!! Great to hear from you again. You know, I was thinking about creating an entirely new nametag, but now that I take another look at the ones we created, its going to be tough to top that. We gotta find a decent high res image that embodies the entire saga.

Go to the bottom of the page and click where it says Guidelines and policies. Download that PDF and you can open it in photo shop and use the image at the top of the page.

 

Just curious ... how do you make a name tag ... use a label/sticker paper in your printer?

Here's the link to the page I created for C3 about how to make nametags. The images are all long gone, but if you follow the directions, you should get the idea. By the way, the empty image at the bottom of the first page is a link to the second page. Click that and it will take you to the rest of the instructions.

As a note, you can now get laminating sheets and the like in scrapbook and office supply sections of places like Target, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Jo-Ann's, etc, etc, etc. You can get quite a lot for the $2.50 Kinkos will charge you to do it for you.

If you print out the name tag onto cardstock or photo-paper instead of normal-weight paper, you could even use clear Contact paper. You find that in the shelf-liner area. I wouldn't use Contact on regular paper because it's probably not stiff enough then.

 

I printed a large version of My Icon (Kisses Tom for the high res version!) and added my screen name and real name on the bottem for c-3 and I'll be wearing it again for C-4!

How do I get a hi-rez version of my icon?

 

I'm gonna need a neck like a Gammorrean Guard to wear all these lanyards & badges to the convention. My C3 badge, my CIV badge, my badge made by Amidala, my Rebelscum badge, this badge...

 

I love this idea!! Being a first Gen. Gal, I'd love to have one that has a picture from Ep. IV or one that encompasses the whole original trilogy.

 

Shouldn't there be some "official" JC picture to make the nametag easily recognizable, like for CII and CIII?
Othervise everyone will be wearing a nametag with diferent picture and then you will have to have a VERY clear "FanForce" written on it or nobody will know why you are wearing it.

 

I am so happy to see these being made again! I am definitely making one based on whatever winning design is decided on here. I believe Grimby was responsible for the awesome badges last time, and I even got Jay Laga'aia to sign mine!

 

I did the same thing...my icon and user name and real name was on there with Grimby's design, and YES, we all come to a consensus on one design and everyone uses that one design to make it easier to spot FF and JCers at the con....also...might I recommend wearing the JC name tag to the Disneyland thing on Wed as well?

TO MR_MUNDI - I agree that there should be an "OFFICIAL" picture that we should all use. I believe that Grimby said he's working on one, so lets wait and see what he comes up with.


TO SHIVANN_D - All of the images ARE broken and are no longer on the website. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. Just remember that the last broken image at the bottom of the first page is actually a link to the second set of directions.

 

We could always hold a poll and vote if more than one person comes up with a design.

 

I believe that's what we did last time.
