Had my first successful whale watching trip. We went on a speedy small boat this time instead of some boring touristy one -- nothing like feeling the salty ocean spray and the wind on your face. Sometimes I like fun.

Also we actually saw the darn animals this time; an entire group of them close by jumping all over the place, which doesn't happen all that often.

So accordingly, I give thanks to Captain Spock for saving all the whales.

Ulicus, keep telling you to use plus so your succession laws transfer. :p also it still amuses me how I've gotten everybody addicted to CK2 :p

Perhaps even more amusing is the massive, all-consuming addiction to a game with an average review score of only 81 or 82.

What do you expect from the unthinking FPS-playing masses?

Despite the fact that it's the easiest Paradox strategy game, I imagine the difficulty cribs has dissuaded a lot of soi-disant critics.

I hope that you were actually typing that out on your phone with one hand while the other hand clung to a zipline, mid-career.

Pics and video to come, hopefully, if people are doing their jobs.

And yes I pretty much felt like Ezio the whole time.

You know, Luke Skywalker always dreamed of jet-skiing down an exploding volcano.

Someone has to get that reference.

Posting from atop a volcanic caldera. The world is safe, everybody. The summit is quiescent.

Also I should totally make it a life goal to post on this thread from the randomnest places.

Kayak capsized today. There's my attempt at underwater posting. Sadly I did not think to have my phone with me.

    Darn.

I finished wrapping gifts for people and filling out cards. Now, there are gifts piled under my little nerdy tree.

So I almost died of anaphylactic shock late last night. Was pretty freaky to feel my windpipe close up while being fully conscious. Yet just a few hours later I was healthy and walking out of the hospital.

We're not sure. I'm dogsitting for a couple I'm friends with, but I've never had an issue with dogs before and I've watched this dog in the past. He was recently groomed though, on Wednesday, so the doctor thinks it must be some chemical that was used then. The ambulance ended up taking me to Beth Israel where they prescribed some pills to manage this issue. I'm still having some symptoms, right now there's a slight tension in my throat but it's been like that for a few hours so I think I'm fine.

Do you know the cause? Was it a reaction to something?

Still not sure whether it was a chemical the groomer used or the dog itself. I've heard of allergies developing over time, but this seem so sudden that I'm inclined to think it's more of a chemical.
