I can't install it. When I try to run the install from the CD, nothing happens. Anybody else have problems like that with Force Commander?

I thought people were spending a lot of time answering a question about DOTT (Day of the Tenticle I think) and I really want to try Force Commander again.

Well, I would help you, but my Force Commander works fine on XP, so I'm not sure what to do.

I'll look around and see if I can find something to help you. :)

Thanks, but those threads didn't have anything about XP trouble in them. I have already looked around the web but couldn't find a similar problem. I guess the game just isn't popular enough. I have a new GeForce 4 Ti4200 video card, so perhaps that is causing the problem.

That's odd. I have a GF4 too, and no problem. Is your CD ok?

My CD psysically looks fine and I can view the files on it. When I try to run setup.exe I see the hour glass and then it just stops like nothing happened. It's possible that it could be something with Windows and I jsut need to figure out if something is interfering with the installation.

    Have you updated Windows recently?

Oh yes... regularly. I actually noticed that the game starts to install when I shut down windows. I see the install bar come up for a second and then windows shuts down. Any reason why that happens?

I've had that happen with other stuff, but it hasn't happened for a while.

I never figured out why it happened though. That's super odd.

I got it to install by using the windows compatability mode! It's under programs - accessories and you can install things under windows 98 or 2000 (or more) compatability.

Force Commander didn't work at all on my Win98 comp, but it works perfectly on my WinXP comp.
