    Hi,

I am sorry if this looks silly, but is it possible to have passion for Star Wars with an high school grade only? I mean I am a simple worker in a restaurant and I have never been to college or university but I've a deep passion for SW and Sci-fi. I heard someone saying that Star Wars was for nerdz and geeks that goes to college and university and so I am wondering if I am an unusual fellow by having this kind of interest.

Do you think I am off-course completely?

    Thanks you responding.

What, you've not got a Masters in Jedi studies, yet you enjoy Lucas' vision of events in the history of a distant place?
How can this be possible? You won't understand the complex Ewok abilities, especially concerning their skills in ensuring a thrown rock can bring down a stormtroooper even though his armour would suggest it wouldn't be possible. Or why after 2 decades of hiding Yoda never mentions his ship to Luke. Or how R2-D2 and C3-PO manage to still be in great running order after 30 years of service yet I can't get a toaster that lasts more than 2 years.

    :p

Star Wars is only enjoyed by old people. This forum is actually a front for Twilight appreciation.

Bah, anyone who says that Star Wars is only for nerds and geeks in higher education is just showing how little they know about Star Wars fans. Anyone can enjoy SW, and sci-fi in general. Also, you don't need a degree to be a geek! Ignore what the idiots say and be proud of your passion for Star Wars :)

If it helps, I wouldn't mix Star Wars fandom and philosophy or film theory degrees. That is a nasty, nasty combination.

StarWars is movies, books, comics, toys, etc, and anyone can have a passion for those things or anything for that matter. I don't have a degree in forensic science but that doesn't mean I can't be passionate about that.

thanks for responding, some of your comment are reassuring. I am glad to see that SW isn't just for geek who goes to college and university. Again I am sorry if this thread looks silly as I feared some of you might find it. I just needed the opinions of SW fans to know if I was heading the wrong way about this.

Sorry to be the voice of reason here, but in order to be a TRUE SW fan you must have:
at least a bachelor's degree (master's or Ph.D. preferred) in Quantum Physics, Molecular Biology, Philosophy, or Comparative Religion; or
a verifiable passion for purple crayons; or
an unsatiable hunger for bacon; and
you must be at least this tall.

These are the requirements. NO EXCEPTIONS!! :p

Being a geek or a nerd is way different than being a Star Wars geek or nerd.

I've been to University and think I'm sort of intelligent but theres so many people on this site who have wwwaayyyyyyyy more Star Wars knowledge/intelligence than me.......I'd be proud to be a told I was a Star Wars geek!!!!!!!!!

Star Wars is TECHNICALLY a children's movie franchise, and certainly none of them have a higher education.

Oh yeah, and the fact many of us here aren't even children anymore really indicates the universality of being a Star Wars fan.

In other words, a college education is unimportant in liking Star Wars, but you should have good vision.
