Do you think you could get a Rodian-Twi'lek, do you think it's possible for species to cross-breed?

    Post what you think here.

Although the races of the GFFA may have some kind of common background seeing as how they are basically humanoid, they are still adapted to their home environment which should give rise to differant DNA suited for survival on that particualr world. They should not be able to breed between races without medical assistance.

I don't think any can. Monkeys and humans can't. Darklighter and his Twi'lek counterpart can't. Etc...

The squadrons have had quite a couple of mixed couples, and then you had the story about Corran Horn and his non-human girlfriend, where if I remember correctly they had to break it up because they were allergic to each other.

I don't think that human have any aliens that are close enough to being able to cross-breed, but I wouldn't say that it was impossible for other species, do we know how close the mon calamari and the quarren are to each other?

The definition of "species" is that one species cannot breed fertile offspring with another species. So, by definition alone, they cannot.

You'd get a Yewok, or a Woda. [face_laugh] (Yes I know it's his name and not his species name 8-} )

That is not entirely true. Hybrid animals do exist and although they are usually sterile, big cat hybrids are often fertile.

I think it's possible between certain species who are relatively equal in many ways, for instance, Humans and Zabraks.

If those big cats can produce fertile offspring who can also produce fertile offspring with each other, then I would not consider them different species, but rather sub-species.

Reproducing in advanced lifeforms involves complex body chemistries. I highly doubt hybridization is done in the SW universe without invasive medical procedures.

    What does GFFA mean?

    I wouldn't mind cross-breeding with a Twi'lek. (As long as it isn't Bib Fortuna)

"If those big cats can produce fertile offspring who can also produce fertile offspring with each other, then I would not consider them different species, but rather sub-species."

Are you saying that you think lions, tigers, etc. are sub-species rather than separate species?

I can think of two in Star wars.

    From the films, Rystáll

From EU, Patches. (You know the guy who Rogue squadron freed from Kessel)
