Given my aptitude at painting generally you got a net gain by me not being there. The first time I tried to paint a set of cupboards it took me eight months and I couldn't open it afterwards; it's a smart idea to take the doors off before you paint them rather than try to do them in situ.

There's basics for painting. Put masking tap on your skirting boards and power sockets. Take doors off first. Like.

I know we have moved to another topic, but yes, in my earlier days I was actually that dumb. I used about three or four coats of white paint before realising what I'd done. I had to cut the doors back open with a Stanley knife.

 

OK can we all agree at least that the Stanley knife is amazing, and that unless you have a scar from one you don't actually lift?

 

I find my profusion of paper cuts to be quite manly.
