Can't install Dark Forces on my PC..

I apologize if there's already a thread for this stuff, but I don't usually come here.
So I have a newer PC and am trying to install Dark Forces on it. I click install, and it really quickly goes blank and comes back up like it's been installed. Then I click on set-up,and it says I've installed it in a custom directory, and I need to go there. But I find no trace of such a thing on my computer. What's a guy to do?

If anyone can help me solve this riddle, it would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Um...what version of DF? What OS are you using? What are your hardware specs? Can we have some more details on the error messages? What do you mean you 'can't find any such thing'?

Download a copy from Steam for 4.99.

 

If you have the Windows 95 CD-ROM the installer won't work with Windows XP or newer. Download DOSBox, mount your hard drive and your DVD drive to the DOS virtual machine, and run the setup exe from the DOS prompt. You'll also have to use DOSBox to play the game, as the game is DOS based and cannot run in a Windows environment.
