Here is some prequel news regarding the new version of BG.

1. Caprica

This televised BG prequel is in the green. The script is finalized and casting will most likely begin soon. This televised prequel is a family drama with a backdrop of corporate politics. Think Dallas meets Dune meets Winds Of War meets Bladerunner. The focus will be the invention of A.I. - the Cylons. The Graystone family and the Adama family will feature in this televised prequel. The Graystone clan owns a Microsoft-like business. While William Adama's father (a lawyer) opposes the invention of the Cylon. The events of Caprica take place 60-50 years before the new version of BG. That places the events of Caprica after the Third Colonial Conflict and before the Cylon Rebellion (a.k.a. the First Cylon War). Young William Adama will be 10-11 years of age.

2. Dynamite Entertainment's Cylon War

This is a major comic book mini-series to be published by DE. Cylon War will be set during the First Cylon War (a.k.a. the Cylon Rebellion). Expect to see co-opted designs from the classic BG show. Such as classic style Cylon warriors, Cylon raiders, Cylon basestars, and Colonial Viper Mark Ones (the Mark Twos will be the new fighters on the block). Not sure who we will see in this prequel. I doubt we'll see a twenty something William 'Husher' Adama (they'll want to reserve his story for television most likely). Instead we'll most likely only see a much younger Saul Tigh fighting Cylons for the first time.
