Heh.

So has anyone actually sent in their Capricon pre-reg yet? It's $35 until the Jan. 12 deadline, then the at-the-door price jumps to $60....

Anyway... what do we want to do for a party at Capricon?

 

I'm giving this thread a boost to remind everyone that registration is currently $35, but will jump to $60 after January 12. Capricon now has online registration, too.

We had a kickin party last year tho, lots a fun.

(For the record, that is the first mushroom pun I have made in the year 2002. I will be attmepting to break my personal mushroom pun record of 17, set in 1988. Wish me luck. And for those that were scoring at home, I finished 2001 with a total of 7. That's a total.....of s-e-v-e-n.)

CHICAGO FORCE & CAPRICON 101

HISTORY:
OK, a long time ago...I think it was late in 1999 while CF was in its infancy just after THE LINE, Shauna (one of our founders) convinced us all that we should to to a Sci-Fi Con (Windycon [much like the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con] ) and throw a Star Wars themed party. We did, we had fun and Shauna convinced us to do another one at Capricon, where we won 1st prize for BEST PARTY. Which was pretty sweet since it was pretty much just Dartha Stuart, Darth Jurist and me throwing it (apologies to annyone I forgot).

WHAT IS CAPRICON?
Capricon is semi-large Science Fiction convention where they have authors, artists, media types and people who sell stuff. Lots of interesting, beautiful & functional people show up to enjoy the festivities. Also there's parties at night.
Mostly we just throw a big kick-ass Star Wars party with lots of booze. We also go to other people's parties (where there's lots of booze). Those of us who don't drink booze watch to make sure people don't steal our decorations. We all pretty much flirt with the beautiful, functional people we come across (and at Capricon the people get get more functional and beautiful as the night progresses).

CF @ CAPRICON THIS YEAR:
This year the theme for the con is "Fun & Games", so we will be hosting (hopefully) a "Star Wars Bounty Hunter Game" as well as throwing a "Star Wars Bounty Hunter" themed party on Saturday Night.

Last year's CF party was great. Personally, it should have won best party. Here are pictures from that one. I'm really sad that I won't make it this year, especially if Matt sings this time.
