Anthony Daniels has been in New Zealand recently. Maybe I should ask him on Twitter.
Yeah, I'm finding this to be true. It makes me wonder how we can love someone for being an icon and degrade them at the same time. SMH
Considering that Daniels is under contract to Lucasfilm for voice work for their various TV shows, getting him will be easy if not already in the bag because of that work. The real question is will they use the suit or the CGI model they made for Star Tours? You can barely tell the CGI Threepio is not the suit. I don't think he will need to be in it as much as he was in the past.
I hope they use the suit. The less CGI charachters the better IMHO.
I think the consideration of whether or not to use the Threepio suit will be entirely dependent on Daniels' ability to physically inhabit the suit; if his physical health won't let him, they'll likely go CGI, but if he can physically inhabit the suit, I think it's a very safe bet that he will.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Jango.
I can think of only one item of Star Wars media that good ol' Tony Daniels wasn't doing the C-3PO voice. That was the droidworks computer game. I'm not worried about him coming back.
Yeah, AD seems like one of the few who really adore SW and their role in it. Although I was happy to hear so many actors say they would reprise their role if asked (or paid): Billy Dee, Ewan, Harrison etc....
Well, Billy Dee Williams usually voices any Lando stuff.
Time for a 'mea culpa'; I thought Daniels was a lot older than he actually is, and now have to retract what I said about the possibility of him not being able to physically inhabit the Threepio suit. If Threepio's involved - and he likely will be - Daniels will definitely be physically playing the role rather than just voicing it.
Excellent! Hopefully this pans out to be true!
It's great to see things slowly falling into place!
He's only 66 for the records. Remember that age is different nowadays, IE 50 is the new 40 etc.... AD has always been slim so I don't think it will be a problem.
yey my favorite princess. Well I guess this video we made for school is kind of related so I'm sharing it with u guys =P
C'mon....at a book signing? I can just imagine her thought process....
"Oh, here's another fanboy asking about Star Wars. I'll let this one think I'm going to be in whatever new somethingorother they're going to make next, just to %$#@! with the Internet message boards."
Yes, I'm going to be in Star Wars. I thought it was pretty clear by now.....fanboy goes running away happy.
"Ha! Did you see that? Kid think I'm going to be in Episode Whatever. I can't wait to see how those fools on the Internet have to say!"
And here we are.
Possibly, but like people have said, she has no reason to be rude or sarcastic at her own book signing...
Agreed. I'm not betting anything based on this. Until Lucasfilm confirms the actors I'll just wait.
It feels like it would be ideal to make that announcement at Thanksgiving or right before Xmas.
The second story is more solid.
I think the reason there hasn't been an official announcement yet is simple. They're waiting for all three to sign on and Harrison hasn't done it yet. He already said that his involvement would be dependent on the script and the director. Once those are in place and Harrison signs on (which I firmly believe he will at this point, although I wonder if payment negotiations are an issue here as well), that's when I expect an official announcement.
Apparently, a representative of Fisher said that "She hasn't confirmed anything. Everything you've seen has been tongue-in-cheek."
Hmm.....do you think Carrie basically said something she wasn't supposed to say, fearing she would get into trouble, or is her representative telling the genuine truth?

She's to old, yes, to old to be in this movie.
What's all this about the "Big 3"??
No Lando love?
Knew she was joking,
I don't think money will be an issue. At least it shouldn't.
You go girl!
