Also, I get the feeling that Carrie's representative is just lying to keep the whole thing under wraps. LucasFilm is probably waiting to surprise us with a big announcement stating that Ford, Fisher, and Hamill have reprised their character roles again.

 

She'll get a small role... make an appearance, speak a few lines, then you won't ever see her again.

 

Definitely sounds like damage control to me. I'm not saying it's definitely going to happen, but the tongue-in-cheek seems a bit weird. Having seen her at appearances, audio, etc, she's VERY open. I wouldn't be surprised if she was telling the truth and just blurted it out....

Carrie Fisher's PR take-back is typical spin control.

Disney/LFL marketing makes the call on these types of announcement. She isn't supposed to say anything until the major OT actors are signed up and confirmed.

This is all timed. So I wouldn't call anything "unconfirmed" here. If anything, the speed with which her people responded to this story suggests it is valid.

 

I read it as a joke before I saw the update. I think she'll be in the movie, but it was definitely said in typical sarcastic Carrie fashion.

What's your problem with old people sonny ? How are you ever going to stay married and faithful to some one if you can't handle people getting old? Did it occur to you that you'll get old too ? And without a Hollywood trainer and diet you might show your age as you grow older. Just a thought ... and with one there is a good chance that they will look the part by the time filming begins.

Good interview with CF on 'The Talk', she looks good and is sassy, I think she'll absolutely be more than able to hold her own if she appears in the ST.
