That's very good. Her boots are also blackish grey and the brim of them at the top is a darker black in a different picture I've seen. I forgot about it on mine.

 

Fan outrage, Leia shouldn't have a cigar in her hand , she never smoked in the OT, inconsistency.

 

Some people are hilarious. "These costumes aren't very good, this movie will probably suck." Ha ha ha. Like others have mentioned, the OT costumes were far from mind-blowing, but the story was fun and exciting, so who cared? Meanwhile, the PT had some really impressive costumes, but….

Anyway, I think the Leia outfit looks good. It's very fitting for her. Has the OT vibe, while not being a full-out replicate of anything. I can see Leia carrying that look off well. But get our girl a blaster!

 

The picture of Carrie in that costume mock up is just 5 or 6 years old. It's from her Wishful Drinking show. It just looks younger because it was shot with great lighting and photoshopped for publicity later. It's not an accurate reflection of how she looked back then either.

 

I wonder if Han will be a cross dresser as well?

 

I can't understand why people say that. She shot for 6 MONTHS. She was on the set for the longest of any of the principals other than Boyega and Ridley. Ford, Hamill, Isaacs and Domnhall came and went, and Carrie was still there. Her part is going to be substantial and pivotal--I am calling it now.

I can also see her being the only surviving member of the big 3 once this trilogy ends.

Even if she doesn't I'm sure she'll be able to pull a ghosting out of the bag by Episode IX (still feels surreal to type Episode IX!) Han's the only one where once he's gone, he's gone (....unless he pulls a Dash Rendar)

 

with the plainer clothes she wore in the OT, wouldn't it be nice to see Leia in something more elaborate or prettier like Padme wore in the PT ?

 

What? That costume isn't even manly. It's gender neutral.

 

If there's occasion for that, I'm sure she will. She already wore glam stuff during medal scene at the end of ANH

 

And especially if you consider the rumours surrounding Gleeson. If he is trying to control the super weapon from the Imperial side, who is his counterpart of the Rebels/Alliance? Only his Aunt. Who is also force sensitive. And knows who he is, probably.

 

Yeah, it would. The budget is no doubt a lot bigger on this movie than it was on ANH. By ESB and ROTJ she was having a little variance in her outfits.

 

No matter how often people repeat this it just doesn't seem to sink in. Apparently Carrie was just hired to shoot a quick cameo and the rest of the time spent there was as a paid onset comedienne.

I'm not getting my hopes up for that, but I would love it.

 

She could be in something very elaborate at first and then change into this when she goes into battle.

 

If it mirrors ANH, as they claim it is, she'll be all dolled up for a ceremony at the end of the film.

If the above rumor is to be believed, Leia will be on the jungle planet. This may be where she wears the "toned down" outfit. She'll probably wear something more elaborate when we first see her on screen.
