She doesn't sound all that different in those two clips. As near as I can tell, the main difference is that she is trying to be soft spoken and reserved with Carson because she's a little nervous or that's just how she was choosing to portray herself. With Ferguson she's confident and brash and putting on a show. I'm sure her voice will match what they are trying to do with the character in the new movie.

    Good gosh, people age.

Get over it. She's Leia regardless of how she looks or sounds - neither of which includes changes that are all that drastic to make you think she can't portray the character.

I really don't get why people are hung up on this.

Check this site out. I can't make out what language it is but it has some recent pics of Carrie and comparing them to when she was way over weight a few years back.

I think she is looking great and ready to be Leia again!

The facial shots may not be too flattering - however, you can't deny she has lost a ton of weight. Good job Carrie!

    Can't wait for Leia's return!

What a void to see a Hungarian article here! :D

    Here is what it says:

"Carrie Fisher was caught on photo on the street. Once princess Leia, [Fisher] changed completely, she lost quite a few pounds. The 57 year-old lost weight because she got a role in the next episode of the Star Wars saga. 'I'm letting my fair grow because I want the same hair buns I had [in ANH], only in white now. I think it would look funny' she said recently. Look at her photos!"

Those paparazzi pics are just xxxxxxxx. Every star looks like xxxxx in most paparazzi pics, regardless of age. It's the sole purpose of the paparazzi to make stars look ugly so that "ordinary people" can laugh or joke about it to make themselves feel better.

Carrie looks great to be honest, and I can't wait to see her as Leia again.

You got me thinking - and realizing something.

A couple years ago, I had the great privilege of being Carrie's 'autograph escort' for a few hours at Wondercon, and I have said before how she could 'morph' her presentation according to whom she was speaking - like with adults she could be cheeky, and sometimes down right full of innuendo (which was down right hysterical, especially when her suggestive answer went zooming over their heads like a tie fighter on a strafing run! I spent a lot of time wide eyed, covering my mouth with my hand to contain the giggles, I tell you!) but I remember one little girl, dressed as NH Leia, or as a princess (or the like), who shyly brought her a picture of her confronting Vader, and Carrie became Leia again. "That's my daddy" she said softly, and a few other things that I could barely catch, but I remember the little girl walking away with wide, shining eyes having met her hero, and I remember how it finally really sank for a brief moment in that I was sitting next to 'HRH, Leia of Alderaan' - yeah, Carrie's still got it and will ROCK...

100% Agree. That story makes that point so poignant.

Slap on some make up, play around with CGI and Carrie will be fine.

I want to add as an aside, this was before the dramatic weight loss (any of them) and it didn't make a scrap of difference - it was all in the eyes, the voice and the presence... Heck, even I felt like a little girl in that instant.

    Luminous beings we are indeed...

Mark has long been a fan of Star Wars fandom and has done nothing but be grateful and appreciative of us. I dont think Carrie gets the same amount of credit for being fan friendly. Maybe its time that changes.

Thank you for sharing that, DarthBreezy. That was lovely.

Carrie looks like a 57-year-old woman who isn't wearing makeup in the close-up pictures. There are plenty of celebrities, including celebrities younger than she, who you WOULD not recognize if you saw them without makeup. Faith Hill, for instance, and Sofia Vergara.

Everyone wears make-up in movies anyway.
We're just going to have to be use to the people bothered about age or anything being different. It happened with the last Indiana Jones movie and as we recall, it use to be a running joke in the media and TV talk show world regarding the first generation of Star Trek movies as those continued on with a fifth and a sixth.

If anyone was concerned that Carrie wouldn't be able to portray Leia walking domesticated animals and grocery shopping, worry no more!

As I've said before to anyone using paparazzi shots of celebs as evidence of Carrie Fisher being unfit for Ep. VII, I challenge to to google image celebs without makeup and get back to me...

    Meanwhile, E-Weekly article
pointing out that Ford, Fisher, and Hamill have all been spotted in London close to scheduled shooting of Ep. VII [face_thinking]

Has no one heard of wardrobe & makeup on a movie set - my understanding is Princess Leia won't be in EP7 shopping at a super market with a dog in tow......
