Well, we don't know that quite yet. I wonder. Could it be part of a future vision Rey has?

 

I wouldn't read much into Carrie's hair color. It may have come down to artistic license. Also dying really grey hair is a complete pain. It never looks super natural at all.

And, it's the middle of a war, Leia may not have time to care about the color of her hair.

 

The rest of Carrie's hair is dyed, so it being a pain really isn't the reason. She dyed her hair various colors long after she grayed anyway, including in TFA.

 

Actually is cool to see heroes (especially female heroes) with gray hair.

 

I agree gray is cool (and it looks great on Carrie). But that wasn't the point of the observation. The point was that at the end of TFA, Leia has no gray in her hair. And in the TLJ BTS shots, her hair is clearly gray. As no time was supposed to have passed between the end of TFA and the beginning of TLJ, this is interesting. Could just be an aesthetic decision by RJ (to heck with continuity, which I'd be fine with), or it could indicate that some significant time passes within TLJ (or it's a vision of the future). We don't know, but in the absence of new spoilers, it's an interesting observation.

 

Exactly. I think everyone has acknowledged it could simply be another Kylo's scar situation, but a very clear hair color change is enough to speculate on a potential time jump.

 

Maybe Rey's new hairstyle + new costume will show up after a time jump (plus Leia's hair more gray).

 

Absolutely. She's looking great in the trailer and behind the scenes footage, and I'm confident we'll see Leia in all her glory in TLJ, hopefully with at least one action scene.

Carrie Fisher's final performance as Leia Organa will be legendary.

 

Yeah, she's awesome. She was the one of the three original I most looked forward to seeing in TFA, and I was not at all disappointed. I thought her acting was great. It will be surreal to see her in TLJ.

I find myself so sad with Carrie's passing. I don't think Star Wars will ever be the same for me.

I adore the new characters, but Leia was my guiding star, my shining example of beauty, intelligence and ferocity, that has inspired me since childhood.

She was taken too soon, with so much life force still radiating. How could this be the new reality?? The world seems to be spinning out of control.

 

I had thought that Episode 9 would include something about Leia dealing with her own legacy as a Skywalker. The sad thing about Lucas's last-minute decision for ROTJ to make her Luke's sister was that we got practically nothing in that vein.

I feel it's too much to expect 8 to touch on that topic, though...

It's such a pity, because I feel it has the wholly unintended and unfortunate consequence of marginalizing Leia as a part of that legacy.

Then we have Shmi and Padme as relatively minor players and/or victims.

This isn't really a criticism of the Saga. Nobody's "to blame." But I'm still kinda sad about it

General, My General! I'm so glad she got a cover! I want to know everything, but I'm heartbroken to know it'll never be enough with her gone and unable to see her character through to the end.

 

Oh she looks wonderful - and I love the cape/coat ... as much as I love the Luke/Rey cover, I'll be getting my hands on this one.
