Oh, how I miss Carrie! It will be bittersweet to see her again on film. I so hope they will treat her with white kit gloves in this film. I just hope considering her passing, we don't have to deal with the fictional passing of Luke. It would simply be too much; at least, for me and some others, I'm sure.
Regardless, on my first viewing, I'm going on my own without friends, just to be able to take it all in and enjoy it for what it is. But can't wait to see Carrie in it.

 

There's something in this gif - I cannot quite place my finger on it. When I saw it on trailer I had immediate negative feelings.

I wonder, does it precede an unexpected (and massive) use of the force by Leia? Perhaps a dark-side destructive element?

 

It could be the use of The Force moment. But I’m sure it won’t be negative. The trailer is only meant to make it suspenseful... will Kylo pull the trigger on his mom? That’s why we have trailers. I’m sure at the zero hour of that moment, there will be a surprise. I do suspect this is where Leia at the last moment will pull an ace out of her sleeve and the audience will cheer.

Poe's other line. I couldn't make it out. Was it "“We are the spark, that will light the fire, to bring The First Order down!” ?

Because I sort of heard it as "You were the spark" instead of "We are the spark." It makes me wonder if Leia will become one with the Force after all.

Did anyone else hear it that way?

I agree, but since Lucasfilm is allowing the marketing to push the idea of a Luke and Leia reunion, while not trying to temper the expectations, I think the Skywalker twins will be reunited. At least I hope so.

I am excited for a Luke and Leia reunion, of course. But I'm also really excited for Amilyn Holdo and Leia. I loved Amilyn in the novel, and Laura Dern is excellent. I just watched her in a murder mystery series and thought she was really good!

Oooh, John Boyega's statement has excited me so much for this movie, especially what he said about Leia. I definitely think this is going to be my favorite star wars movie of the new trilogy.
