    I love the Prozac pill urn. Not sure whether that was ever part of her cocktail, but its design is arguably the most recognizable of all "crazy meds."

    She's still more hilarious while dead than most of us are while alive.

    A note for UK folks - it looks like Sky Atlantic (Sky channel 108) will be showing Bright Lights followed by Wishful Drinking on this coming Tuesday evening. The first starts at 9PM immediately followed by the second at 10:50. The shows wrap up at 12:25 AM. I'm going by the Sky EPG for this information as some of the TV listings in the papers I got today had it but others didn't.

    Paying my respects to her (and her mom too) in this thread. I am deeply saddened by her passing, but that is an understatement of how I am feeling altogether about this. :(

    "Bright Lights" was a beautiful, and often hilarious, documentary. Appreciate that HBO moved it up from the planned screen date in the spring.

    The love that Carrie and Debbie had for each other was the centerpiece of the film, and even while the film is an intense reminder of what we've lost, it is a gift to have gotten this look inside their lives. If you have an opportunity to see it, I highly recommend it.

    The film ends with Debbie telling Carrie, "I love you."

    I did a double feature tonight of La La Land and Bright Lights. One is sort of about the promise and opportunity of Hollywood and pursuing a career in the performing arts, and the other is about the messy reality and the carnage and ruin that Hollywood fame can bring. Not that her own and her mom's fame caused all Carrie's problems, but definitely some and possibly most. Also, there's a lot of singing in both movies.

    That part with Griffin Dunne was probably the funniest, and truest, depiction of a long friendship that I can imagine seeing on TV...

    Also, it's sort of amazing that Fisher Stevens is this good at documentaries, after his early acting gigs (particularly Short Circuit 2).

    I liked that part, too, dp.

    My favorite part had to be the beginning, though, when she was giving a tour of her house. "This is my suitcase, Robert." And then the paintings of ugly children. I laughed so hard.
