Arnold has a decent knack for thematic development, I think, so I have high hopes that he can pull it off.

I'm surprised by the range of emotion in the score. I have not listened to many of the Bond scores except fro their themes, but its a good sign for me to hear some soft piano-dominate tracks in this preview. Furthers my dream that this will be a deeper Bond film than we have seen - if the trailer was any indication.

But... uninspired.

 

Now this is what I want to like in a Bond score. As a HUGE Bond fan, I'm really anticipating this movie and score. I seriously can't wait!

Although, I'm a little dissapointed and confused that the title song is not on the soundtrack. Just from a marketing standpoint, that seems really bizzare.

 

I thought that too. Usually studios shoehorn unrelated songs onto soundtracks just to make a better profit and yet in this case they aren't when it actually makes sense to.

SOTS - From memory, TWINE at the very least has quite a few emotional tracks, especially when the film is dealing with Electra. If you can get the score, check "Access Denied", for example.

 

I'm interested in how they're actually going to release the song, because you know they will. I wonder if it'll be some kind of exclusive online download. Either way, once I have a higher quality version, I'm going to burn my own cd. Since the melody seems to be featured so prominately in the score, I want to have on the cd as well.

 

BIG NEWS: The entire score to Casino Royale will be released exclusively on iTunes on November 14! It includes an additional 13 tracks that do not appear on the soundtrack release. Let's hope this is the start of things to come. Now let's just pray that iTunes gets itself into the 21st century and releases music at a higher bitrate!

So far, this is one nice soundtrack.

 

Excellent soundtrack. Current favourite tracks: "African Rundown", "Blunt Instrument", the mega "Miami International", "Death of an Aston Martin", and, of course, "The Name's Bond...James Bond". What better way to end a soundtrack than with the full, all-out Bond theme?

 

Just saw the film and the score works very well in it. It's incredibly well mixed and adds to the picture nicely.

It does tend to distract a bit due to over-busy orchestrations and there are points where the musical drama doesn't quite match the corresponding drama onscreen, but overall it's well done. I also really liked the use of "You Know My Name" in the score itself.

Oh, and the movie is pretty damn good, too.

 

And with it being Sony Classical, it would only make sense.

 

I'm going to see the movie tonight. I wanted to see it yesterday, but ended up going to a belly dancing studio instead (long story, but interesting nonetheless). I hope it's as great as everyone is saying.

 

I just listened to a few samples at the iTunes store. Sounds good.

The missing theme song is very puzzling, though.

I really like seeing bonus "digital" tracks available. Let's hope they retroactively make more availalbe from other scores. Soon.

 

The score's great. The best one is the last, "The name's Bond, James Bond". But it, as any other Bond-theme gets ruined when that damn guitar starts playing. It sould've been piano (F-key) or trombones.

 

The guitar has been part of the Bond theme since John Barry came to the franchise. Why is it that a certain instrument is arbitrarily unfitting? Electric guitars are Bond... get used to it.

Absolutely loved the ending and the music.

 

Does anyone have the exclusive iTunes tracks to offer? iTunes doesn't work on my computer and I would really like the full soundtrack since I already bought it at Best Buy.

Casino Royale was Good, but still needs little polishing. Anyhow the new version of Casino Royale is going to be relaeased in 2007.

Is it true that Amy Winehouse is singing the next Bond theme? She's pretty good, and I bet she could pull it off.
