"Agent Kannat, are you traveling with Agent Carfax and the others?"

Stent sighed before he thought for a moment.

"I can go by myself, as I would certainly thrive in the situation we are placing ourselves in," he replied, again in dry sarcasm. "The humanoid females would not be able to resist me. Or, to make things easier with aliases and working together, I can attach myself to Agent Girange's entourage."

The zeltron looked at the Lorrdian and the other agents. "I do not see it as inconceivable as acting as a 'guardian' of sorts to Agent Girange's alias. Setting up a high-class speeder company with his parents' money by himself for the first time? I could act as his advisor of sorts and help in putting him in contact with the upper class. Of course, this alias would include me being myself since I would be surprised if I did not run into someone that knows or would recognize me. What does the entourage think of this?"

"Ma'am, it would make sense if it were I who did the driving for my party. Providing the ride does not call for any complex aerial maneuvers, I should not have much trouble getting them safely to the auction."

"I don't think you will have much trouble with the speeder traffic, so that's one more problem out of the way."

"I can go by myself, as I would certainly thrive in the situation we are placing ourselves in. The humanoid females would not be able to resist me. Or, to make things easier with aliases and working together, I can attach myself to Agent Girange's entourage. "Well Agent Kannat, traveling alone would mean that we'd have to win the auction on another room, so it would probably be more cost-effective if we were to split the six of you between two rooms. And unless our honeymooners have taken up polygamy, that means it would probably be easier to send you with the other three agents. If you really feel as though an entourage would somehow hinder your efforts, I suppose you could dip further into the funds and try for a third room. But if you don't mind traveling with Agent Girange and the others, then it looks like the only other thing is to make sure your stories match. Even if you can't agree on a believable business venture, there's always the possibility of simply being a group of friends... or friends and a body guard, as the case may be."

"No, I do not think that me being by myself would hinder my efforts; rather, I think it would hinder our efforts, especially if we had to use funding for another room. I was not criticizing Agent Girange's alias, either. I was merely saying that it would be believable that someone with little experience in setting up such a venture could use me as assistance. It could be something as simple as his 'parents' or himself hiring me for the advisory position. They could have come across my name through some friends of friends, as I do know diplomats who have worked with the Lorrdians, and they contacted me because of my knowledge of the upper class in a decent portion of the galaxy."

"Fair enough agent, so you'll be operating with Agent Girange as part of the entourage. All that's left seems to be the process of preparing for the part."

She looked at the agents.

"Before we all head off to raid wardrobes or falsify more documents, why don't you four take a moment to compose yourselves and give a demonstration of how you'd operate in society. Your characters, your interactions, make sure you know the story."

She spun around to face Devon, tendril-like hair whipping around behind her.

"You!" she said, adjusting her skewed visor. "When I ask you to stick around, I wasn't just referring to the planet. Your status in an external organization doesn't mean you can simply wander around as you please. If you want to work with MI5, you're certainly do a stellar job convincing us otherwise. We need to know that you will be cooperative, and that means following instructions. Now, you're going to head down to level 7 and do a few training runs, got that? Now go."

She looked over at Joss and Ruana.

"Agents Trebond, Vendu, you've been rather quiet. Is anything wrong?"

"Agents Trebond, Vendu, you've been rather quiet. Is anything wrong?"

"No, just listening to the plans being made by others, for once," Ruana replied cheerfully...and somewhat wryly. "Just one thing, Dub-Three had better go with someone else. Senex prejudices regarding droids who seem overly independent." She shrugged. A smile spread across her face. "Oh, and I'm to be replaced here on Coruscant. A cousin is coming to stay with my parents, let herself be glimpsed now and then. Took a bit of talking, but she agreed to it. She'll be dyeing her hair red...apart from that, we're similar enough for her to pass if she doesn't spend too much time in public. We've worked out the details, but I figured I show let you know."

The Ubese agent grunted in annoyance. If Ruanna and Joss were unwilling or incapable of taking W-3PO with them, the droid became the burden of his party. How wonderful.

Putting his irritation aside, Halon acted on Mny'Karedito's advice and turned back to Boz'rir, intent on getting a better handle on their cover story.

"So then, Master Tyler...Whom exactly shall I say is hiring me to watch your credits on this little excursion? What is it that your parents do?"

And Agent Trebond, what exactly did you tell your cousin that convinced her to act as your stunt double?"

"Ah...I might have given her something about wanting some private time...plus the whole 'you do this for me and I'll owe you big-time'. She was bored, and she doesn't often get a chance to claim favours off me. We do this sort of thing all the time, I cover for her plenty if she asks it." Ruana shrugged. "Fair's fair. Most likely I'll wind up pretending an associate of hers is known to me, and of sufficient rank to be seen around her. Scandals are always avoidable, with forethought."

It was amusing to Ruana, that her cousin Orinna shared her own predilection for selecting the kind of companion least acceptable to title-fixated parents. Though Orinna seemed simply to pick them for entertainment- temporary amusement.

Ruana blinked. "I don't think it changes the story. Serena doesn't technically exist. Orinna will be me, I'll be Serena. Not the standard switch. Complicated but effective." Apparently she'd neglected to mention that the cousin taking her place was not the identity she was assuming.

Though if you want, your characters can leave now and you can do your own internal fast-forward consisting of putting on your best monkey suit, bathing, or whatever else it is that you feel like doing to prepare. The fast-forward would take you guys up to arriving at the site, please inform me if you'd like me to stop earlier.

Boz raised his hands up in an annoyed gesture.
"Right, this is starting to get ridiculous. In the group I will have Markus, Stent and Halon. Although Halon, I don't think posing as a member of the Malex clan would be most advisable as their Xenophobic beliefs would make them somewhat unsuitable to be bodyguards.
Now, I can see no reason why we would have a droid with us, especially one with such a.......well to be frank such an erratic personality."
He looked straight at M'ney Karedito.
"But to be perfectly frank miss, if we spend this much time planning over everything then anybody who wants to cause the passengers of this cruise harm will be able to execute their plans in full while we're still sorting out what time we eat fragging dinner. Pardon my use of Agent Carfax's language."

"Halon, I don't think posing as a member of the Malex clan would be most advisable as their Xenophobic beliefs would make them somewhat unsuitable to be bodyguards."

Halon threw back his head back with a light chuckle, a rare enough sound that most of his acquaintances never got the opportunity to hear it.

"I did not realize you were such an expert on my people, Boz'rir," Halon said, gesturing at the human with his finger. "In point of fact, the Malex Clan is widely known for its unorthodox, and some might dare say heretical, traditions and practices. I can assure you, they will do anything if the money is right." To further illustrate the message, he indicated the clan clasp and it symbols of forbidden knowledge.

"Besides which," he sniffed, "most beings cannot tell one Ubese from another, let alone which clan they belong to." In truth, it was a fact Halon often used to his advantage. He depended on it, really.

Stent replied to the Ubese. "Certainly, Agent Halon, most beings will not be able to tell which clan you belong to, but that does not matter to them. They will see you as an Ubese, and many, especially those in the upper class, will number you among the scum of the galaxy. This may prove to be of some difficulty for us. I recommend that you put yourself on your 'best behavior,' that is, act more friendly than the typical Ubese. Let it be shown that you are actually loyal to Agent Girange's alias or his family, perhaps because they have treated you well, paid you handsomely, and/or that you have been in their service long enough to develop some devotion to them. Anything to suggest to the snobbish that you are not the stereotypical, run-of-the-mill Ubese bodyguard and rather that you are able to fit in this so-called 'respectable society.'"

Stent gave his attention to the whole group. "As for our droid companion here, I believe that we will have no choice but to include him in the entourage. He is a protocol droid..." Stent paused and looked over W-3P0, mixed emotions on his face, "...well, on the exterior, at least... hopefully... perhaps he has been playing too much sabaac with Agent Carfax?" A wide smile crept on the Zeltron's face.

Incredibly, Agent Kannat seemed to think he was giving Halon facts the Ubese agent wasn't already intimately familiar with.

He turned around slowly to face him, a poodoo-eating-grin already plastered wide over Stent's face. "I have been doing this longer than you have, Zeltron. And most bodyguards are not paid to be friendly; they are paid to keep their clients safe and keep quiet. Although, if you are somehow able to avoid spewing us all with pheromone discharges, I think I can manage to 'behave' myself for the duration of the voyage."

He bowed his head slightly to Stent.

Stent was both surprised and expecting such a response from Agent Halon: Surprised because he thought he made it clear by the tone of his voice that he was not belittling Agent Halon in any way but expecting it because, well, he received similar responses from Ubese before. And, of course, Halon had to throw the standard racial slur in there. Stent assumed that Halon automatically thought he was attacking him just because he talked about his people. This usually angered Stent due to the widespread ignorance he had to deal with during his diplomatic corps years, but since Agent Halon was a new colleague he gave him the benefit of the doubt.

"Splendid!" Stent could not help smiling a little from the odd humor that he found in this. "As long as we understand each other. Oh, and I do not do much of the pheromone tactic anymore; I let the rest of my foolish race do that. So I take it that I will hold very little dialogue with you during our excursion, Serik of the clan Malex, being a quiet bodyguard and all. Very well. Being a paid adviser to Alecti Tyler would not necessitate much interaction between you and I other than you making sure that I do not harm your charge."

As the agents left the room, Mny'Karedito glanced around quickly before sending off a quick message from her console.

Vos Gesal Hotel

1754 Coruscant Standard Time
4 days before departure

After doing whatever they could or felt like doing in the intermediate period, the two speeders were approaching the location of the auction. The event was being held at the Grand Reception Hall of the Vos Gesal Hotel. For such a high-class event, the location was perhaps somewhat unusual. Though glamorous and bordering the Senate district, the lower levels of the [link=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Uscru_Entertainment_District]Uscru Entertainment District[/link] were perhaps a little closer to the more "unsavory" lower levels than was entirely comfortable. Then again, some found any altitude lower than that of a skyhook to be too close to the unsavory elements of the planet.

Still, the district was quite a sight, the classic Coruscant luminescence out in full force, with the dazzling lights and glow of signs and dancing holograms. Below, a small crowd of people had formed near the entrance around the path leading into the building. Wherever the famous and powerful tread, there would be those who felt the need to be around them.

OOGM: Okay kids, feel free to park and head for the door (or have a valet park for you) or do something else if it comes to mind. And be sure to tell me if you're carrying anything your average civilian wouldn't be carrying (gadgets, espionage equipment, weaponry, Ewok Commandos, that sort of thing)

Traffic had been busy but with the reception hall now in sight, Halon gingerly began his descent, guiding the agency's luxury speeder down toward the valet area facing the entrance. Pleasantly surprised with the relative smoothness of the landing, he exited the speeder and gave the area a quick scan before turning to open the passenger door for his prestigious passengers.

All in all, it was turning out to be quite the scene but it certainly felt safe enough; the curious on-lookers were being kept as far back they could. Halon didn't really expect much trouble tonight anyway though he still had the KYD-21 in his shoulder holster and the palm blaster sunk into a pocket. Besides, a bodyguard was supposed to be ever vigilant and prepared and needed to look like it.

The street of the Gesal Hotel was fast rising among the more crime-stricken areas of the Uscru Entertainment District. Such was customary in these days of the Republic as the rich became richer and poor became even more so. It seemed very odd that such a high society event be held in a semi-questionable venue.

The man who would be known as Sonjir Koor scanned the crowd around the Entry Way of the Vos Gesal Hotel seeing the typical upper crust of Galactic Society mingling with some of the lower tiers.

Stent stepped out of the speeder once Agent Halon aka Serik opened the door. Standing by the speeder he took in his surroundings, nodding acceptably at the gala that was put before him and the entourage. Of course, this was external. Inside, Stent was wondering why this location was picked; why so close to the gritty lower levels? "Criminal underworld" was the first phrase to enter his mind, but exactly who he did not know. And would not such criminals on Coruscant have the power to acquire a much nicer, ie safer location than this?

Dressed in smart looking green slacks and tunic with gold trim, he adjusted his sleeves.

"We have arrived," he called out. "Ready, Master Tyler?"

Not only was Stent talking to Agent Girange aka Alecti Tyler and the rest of the group, but he was also letting Agents Vendu and Trebond and those back at MI5 that were listening in through his concealed throat microphone (in his inner left ear sat the concealed earpiece) of the group's status. Hopefully those back at MI5 would be able to record and analyze any suspicious conversations that he came across that night.
