You guys are passing up some great character actors. It's good that some put Ralph Fiennes (Schindler's List, The English Patient) in their casts but what about the others?

Some of you probably didn't even recognize the names that I threw out on the last page. I'll give you some info.

Ellen Burstyn - The Exorcist she played Regan's mother. She plays the drug addicted mother in Requiem For A Dream.

Angus Scrimm - Played the Tall Man in the Phantasm movies and the king vampire at the beggining of subspecies.

Leo McKern - Played Buganhagan in the Omen. Also played Imperius the monk in Ladyhawke.

Freddie Jones - Played the old one in Krull. Played Thufir Hawat in 1984'S DUNE.

Vincent Schiavelli - Played the subway ghost in Ghost. Played the Organ Grinder in Batman Returns. Played Salieri's valet in Amadeus. (the guy who eats Salieri's cake at the beginning)

Those are some great character actors. You people should use them.

LOL! Funny to see this thread.

I had an actress in mind when I wrote In the Best Interests of the Child. At first all I could think of was some young, thin, blond beauty as my attorney, but at the time I was reading Wake Up, I'm Fat! by Camryn Manheim. And it got me thinking about how sexist, ageist, and size-ist SW is, and me, too! I mean, here I am, 33 years old and a size 18, and I couldn't think of any other possible heroine than some blond, Britney-Spears-type child prodigy!!

So I put my imagination to work and came up with a new SW heroine that definitely isn't "typy," by imagining Camryn Manheim in the role.

And I have to thank her for writing that book, and showing me my own prejudices, which were still there even though I was as angry as I was about the rampant sexism in the SW universe.

Callista: Elaine Hendrix, hands down. She played Meredith Blake in The 1998 remake of "The Parent Trap" movie. She is perfect for Callista.
