ST Casting Rumors 2.0 - Nothing but casting rumors... or else.

We have read a lot of rumors about white actresses having auditioned. Maybe she is already cast. Mind on the first leaked cast there were two females. I guess it wouldn´t be surprising to see two of them. One would be more importante than the other.

What do you think guys? Heir to the Jedi sounds like Luke novel that could give us some clues about the Ep. VII.

And apparently there will be Sith in the time of the ST. Not surprising, but still... Driver, perhaps?

 

Nothing indicates that these novels are set after ROTJ.(or did I not read it carefully enough)

 

Makes sense as part of a wider plan building up to announcements. Feels like the decks are being cleared.

 

Yes, I have a hard time believing that Mr Mystery Box would allow novels dealing with new ST characters.

 

I hope the announcement of the cast comes with a short description of the cast. I would like to see who are the new kids, and so on. I think a mere list of names involved in the movie would be very poor from LFL.

 

That's another nice thought. Of course they wouldn't announce the characters when they announce the cast.

Covers of the new novels suggest during the OT actually, but I still wouldn't rule out some kind of build up novel closer to the time.

It would be nice to get character names and descriptions when we get the cast, I wonder if we will just get the descriptions at first (if that?). What happened with the PT or Trek?

The Sith Lords book has Vader and Palps on the cover. But I can't imagine them going large on the Sith now then dumping them from the ST.

Keep in mind JJ allowed a prequel comic for his Star Trek film to hit newstands a full four months before the release of Trek 2009. Star Trek: Countdown chronicled the backstory of Nero. Meanwhile, the regular Star Trek title featured a couple of issues which tied into events in Into Darkness. Again, these preceded the release of the movie, so I could see him allowing a character or two to appear.

Yeah, tie-ins/ lead-is seem to be a pretty standard multi-platform strategy now. Oh whatever the correct jargon is.

Yep, this is the scenario I think Disney and Lucasfilm should try to avoid: pics of the cast around the studio without them even having confirmed them. C´mon, we all know big 3 are back, give us the full cast and let the production continue without this troubling halo around it.
